  • On the strip / near strip hotels with 2 bedroom + living room combo?

Hey guys. My best friend and I are wanting to go to Vegas during early February of 2014.

We will each be bringing a girl, but then we also want to pre-drink and just-in-general party together so we would like a hotel that offer a one big "room" with 2 separate bedrooms (for nightly sexy times) and a living room.

We thought of just getting regular rooms at any hotels on the strip (as most have connected rooms that are normally closed off from each other by a door) but we are thinking this style of layout would be more fun.

By checking on hotwire, both south and north strip 5 star hotels are going for $130~140 / night plus tax plus resort fee.

So, for a 2 bedroom place with a living room, our budget is something like $300~400 / night.

    Any suggestions?

Check our Elara by Hilton, they'll have 2 bedrooms with a living room for a reasonable price.

Agree on Elara. Also look at the MGM Signature towers. I have stayed at both (was the Westgate back then) and the Elara is closer to the action but MGM isn't that bad of a walk.

Either way you must do the "$20-trick." In both places it served us very very well.

You could also look for Jockey club rentals on VRBO or similar sites and could easily get a 2 bedroom for $300/$400 a night. Ive had a problem finding MGM Signature rentals that didn't require a 4 night minimum (private rentals).
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

A room with the word "suite" or an actual suite is a status multiplier which means a money multiplier. Unfortunately the multiplier is determined by the property.

Took 2/6 to 2/9 as the dates and used my players card offers and I am a minimal gamble more clubs and shows with the wife:

Elara 2 bedroom is running an average $469/night on their site.
Luxor 1 bedroom suite is $628 before taxes and daily resort fee
            Aria 1 bedroom suite $387/night, 2 bedroom penthouse $712/night, 1 bedroom penthouse $512/night
            Vdara 1 bedroom penthouse $393/nt, 2 bedroom penthouse $526/nt
MGM Signature 1 bedroom balcony suite $125/nt...get 2 next to each other
Mirage 2 bedroom tower suite $476/nt
Monte Carlo 1 bedroom Diamond Suite $161/nt...this is pretty nice...get 2 next to each other
Flamingo Go mini suite, 1 bedroom, $155/nt
Harrahs executive suites, 1 bedroom, $169/nt

Wynn and Encore has a 72 hour online deal going on right now for 2/6 to 2/8 and 2/11 to 2/14 using WEB7248 as he code

Yup. Thats why it is important to hit a place that is dedicated to suites. The places like Aria, Luxor, Mirage only have a handfull of suites and use them for high rollers. The fixed cost of the room isn't much more than their standard room but putting a high roller in there makes big money on the floor. So, if a nominal gambler goes into thoes rooms, they need to pay what the house expects to rake in on the floor. Hence outrageous prices for "suites."

I have no experience with Rio but that too is an "all suites" property. The good thing about Elara and MGM Signature is that they were condos gone broke so they are much larger and in great supply.

What sort of upgrade would the $20 trick do at the Elara? Say if you already have a 1 bedroom suite booked..
Wouldnt all the 1 bedroom suites be similar? Better view perhaps?

Just curious to see what kind of upgrade you got, ill be using it for my next trip next year.

I don't recall the "going in" position but remember the deal. I believe that we had a 1 bed suite and a generic room. When we approached we asked for the rooms to be together and with the sandwich.

The result was a 2 bed suite strip side. The master room was in the "red-point" of the tower (we were about mid-way up). Room had projector, motorized curtains, kitchen, dining, jacuzzi tub - the works.

Most likley you will get a better view and possibly more space. Good luck!
