  • LV solo business trip + few days/nights spare

    Hey guys,

I had a friend cancel out on me just today so im coming to LV from Australia between 17th dec and 22nd primarly for a business trip which should take up 1-2 days max.

Never been to the LV or the states but im excited.
Staying at the Coso and plan to party most nights - im thinking
XS, Tao Marquee etc. Thats if I can find friend/friends to dance and hang with. Ive never been clubbing on my own and generally the one with a witty remark if I think your at a club alone... (i know what goes around comes around)

Anyway if anyone is in town around my time and wants me to tag alone that would be great!!

Im staying at Cosmo so should be pretty central!

Also want to get a round of Golf in and do a day of shopping.
Is there any difference between the north and south outlet center? 1 better than the other or any other alternative?

For golf i was thinking Wolf Creek, TPC las vegas or Cascatta, anyone want to chime in here? can only do 1 round?

Im in my mid 20s if that makes any difference as I didn't mention it in the above post.

Vegas has so many choices/options high end/ low end- you can eat, drink, party, golf, go to shows, shopping, free entry strip clubs etc, etc.
Not sure how adventurous you are but since you have never been to the states before its worth mentioning Los Angeles, CA is about a four hour car/bus ride- even shorter on a plane if you wanted to see Hollywood, the ocean, Disneyland etc.
The Grand Canyon is also a possible day trip- its $80 for roundtrip bus fare/park entry free.

Check all nightclub lineups to get an idea of djs- but
12/17 1oak at Mirage-will have open format/ hip hop dj
12/18 Light- great choice- light has most insane visuals buy tickets on www.wantickets.com
12/19 Tao- DJ five will be open format-buy tickets on taolasvegas.com (Hakkasan and Tryst are closed this day)
12/20 Marquee EDX will be EDM- should get free entry with room key. All clubs are open on Friday and Saturday
12/21 xs- the highest positive reviewed nightclub in vegas and was #1 in the world in revenue last year
      12/22 xs?

      Have FUN!
Also remember at nightclubs the headline dj usually starts around 1am!

Hey rtistik, I have only ever been to the north outlets for shopping but I do know that it is closer to the strip than the south outlets. I would check online and if all the stores you need are available in the North, then head there and save yourself some time.

I don't play golf but one of my friends plays regularly every trip. He usually plays at TPC Las Vegas or Badlands Las Vegas. He has also played at the Wynn, says the course is awesome but ridiculously expensive at $500 a round, plus rental of clubs etc.

Hope that helps. Have a good one!

thanks guys, pretty adventurous but avoid all the strib clubs etc. seen one seen them all right.

Love partying and dancing so the above list is great.
Definately going to do LIght, tao and marquee and XS if im up for it.
Just hope i can meet a few people to chill with. clubbing 4 night alone seems pretty boring.

Clubbing alone will not be as boring as you think...especially in Vegas. You WILL meet people. Most people can speak for the clubs, so I'll comment on the golf...

For golf, I like to play Bali Hai. It's the only other golf course (besides Wynn) that could be considered "on the strip". The service there is top notch as is the food. Course should be overseeded with Rye grass right now, so I bet conditions are terrific with that brilliant green Rye has. Check discount golf sites like golfnow.com and see if you can get a reduced rate. The rack rate at Bali Hai isn't as expensive as Wynn, but it gets up there.

One thing to think about is that the rate at Wynn is now all inclusive (shoes, clubs, food, and non-alcoholic drinks). The convenience of having everything included at Wynn may be easier for you. Give the Wynn a call to determine the Winter pricing. Sometimes it changes based on the season.

Realize all those clubs Light, tao, marquee, XS are multiple thousand person capacity clubs- lots of people = lots of possibilities
Since you have never been I would really try to make it to all four of them!!- each is different and unique.

Don't knock going solo in Vegas. I do it all the time. Even when I go with friends I usually get there a day or two early. You always meet new people and I like the freedom. Unless you are the type of person that needs to have people you know with you as a comfort blanket...don't knock it until you try it. While you are making wise cracks about see me in the club alone, I'm having a great time meeting new people and not stuck with the same group of guys all night.

If u are worried about it when talking to a girl just say you came with your buddy but he hooked up with a girl soon after you got in and left you solo. Look around pretending to try and see him. "He'll be fine, he does this often." It usually gives you some good sympathy points with the ladies without having admit it if you don't want to. Or just be honest and confident about it. Either works well in Vegas from my experiences. Especially if you are there for work.

if you dont mind driving about 1 hour to the golf course i can highly recommend wolf creek. played it last year, it was definitely one of the most spectacular courses i have ever played so far! this is a must see course!

this year i played paiute wolf course and tpc las vegas. both solid courses, paiute typical desert course (72 holes in total) with a nice layout.
tpc las vegas is neat too but neither of them is in the wolf creek league!

if you can afford it try out the wynn course, heared good things about it, but 500 bucks for a round of golf is too much in my opinion.

regarding clubs definitely check out light on the weekend and for tuesday i would recommend hyde.
