  • Wed, 12/11 decisions...

I'm in the midst of planning a night for next Wed, 12/11 and am a little torn as to where to bring the group. It will be mainly girls (3:1 ratio, yay for me) with a mix of newbies and vets.

I was eying up Light since I've heard good things and haven't made it there yet, but I was uncertain about how Baauer might be for the night. Has anyone seen one of his sets? I know it will inevitably be more trap than standard "Vegas club EDM," but I'm wondering how different the vibe for the night would be. Especially since I think the girls are more used to the typical stuff.

On the other hand is Surrender with Deniz Koyu. I've not seen anything with him at all either, but it seems like more of the "usual," albeit at a slightly less hot (but still solid) club.

So, yeah, I know these choices are totally based on each person's tastes, but would be great to hear opinions here as to where you might personally head and what seems like it would make the better night. I'd ask my group, but they're clueless about what-is-what; they just know what they like.

Should also think about setup of club
    Light is all indoor
Surrender is encore beach with an enclosure over pool and very small indoor area which is surrender

Visually and production wise surrender doesn't even compare

Light is definitely worth checking out. Just youtube some Baauer sets and see what you think. If trap music does not absolutely repel you, I would definitely choose Light.

Thanks, yeah, I think we'll give it a shot. I'll be fine with trap. Will just make sure everyone else pregames enough that it doesn't matter to them whether they like it or not.

Baauer will be more of a treat because he has hardly played here. His set was similar to an RL Grime set if you've been. Hip hop for sure, felt NYC current style with Trap. He didn't go hard Trap like an UZ would, but good good set. Maybe similar skill wise to A-Trak with a less EDM. Go!
