  • The mysterious world of Las Vegas Socialites (first time advice)

Looking for advice on a singular good night, first week of January.

    Dates: Dec 30th - Jan 5th
Event I would like a table with 2-4 bottles for 2-4 hours.
Group Between 4-8 guys with 4-12 + Girls
    Budget $2-3.5k

    Background:

This will be the first time that 7 of the 8 guys have ever been inside a club.
This will be the first time that I have ever tried to do this somewhat on my own.
This will be the first time that I have ever been the only person that has been in a club.

With that said i have spent 6-7 hours reading through pages and pages of threads to gather information. I can say now that it is EXTREMELY helpful that you guys go through such effort to post relevant information. I feel a lot more knowledgeable and comfortable after reading so much good advice and I thank you for that. What a resource this place is.

I am heading to LV for NYE and a bunch of my long time buddies will be joining me. We were there this last Sept and although all we did was hang in a tiny room and gamble, we all dressed nice, got trashed and had an amazing time. Now I would like to try and show them a little taste of what $ can buy and another way to look at life.

This will their first time in a club, first time probably doing lots of things. I've talked to connections I had from growing up in LV but the few I have gotten in contact with would be "independent hosts" and I did not see their name on the sticky thread, so i am reaching out here.

I was quoted two bottles @ tryst for around $1200 total and 4 bottles at XS for around $2.5-3k total. This would be all inclusive, paid to the guy I know and that should be the end of it.

I know NOTHING of any club in vegas nor have i experienced it. If someone would be kind enough to answer the following quick questions I would be very grateful.

    1. We all like EDM? Where should we head?
    2. First time doing any of this, what is the best starting ground for breaking the seal?
    3. With 4 guys minimum and 8 maximum with roughly same girls, what is my all inclusive price range?
    4. What is the best day to go if my available dates are Jan 1st through 4th? (Wed - Sat)

Chances are I will have one shot at giving this guys a truly remarkable night (and i would like to make this a quarterly thing sooooo gotta do it). The easier on the pocket book, the easier it is to sell the idea to them but I can work with whatever is put in front of me and I know that more $ can buy better experience.

Thanks a ton for any continued information you guys can give. My email is [email protected] if you need to reach my personally. I will check this thread often.

    Thanks!

With your budget you've got a couple ways to approach this. Tier 2 club with a better table location, or Tier 1 club with a lesser location. Since you like EDM, the Tier 1 clubs are going to be more to your liking. Plus, they bring the WOW factor.

I'd suggest Light on Wednesday night 1/1/13. It will be busy for sure, but not as stupid as NYE will be.
You can probably get a nice table for $2,000 minimum. Your cost would break down like this.
    Minimum = $2,000
    Server Grat = $400
    Tax = $160
    Host Tip = $300
    Other Tips = $100
    TOTAL = $2,960
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Sorry man, is this group guys and girls? And up to 20? (8 guys, 12 girls)

      This is the deal

      Monday: XS or Marquee
Tuesday: I dunno, but id be at Hyde personally
      Weds: Light
      Thurs: Tryst
Fri: Tryst, XS, Light or Hakkasan

Youll get the best deal at Tryst on a Thursday, as you can get 2 Grey Goose and 2 Moet for $595. They are also doing this deal on weekends over Winter so you could use it also on Friday, so you should speak to Bobby Yeadon whos the best host out there for Wynn Clubs such as Tryst & XS. You could potentially get 8 Goose and 8 Moet for your upper end of the budget at $3.5k once youve factored in handshakes and tax and so on.

So if its bang for your buck you should do that. Tryst is still a brilliant club

Basically - at Light, XS, Marquee or Hakkasan youll do $2400 on 4 bottles. The remaining $1100 of your budget will go on tax, grat, tips and handshake.

At Tryst your money will go further.

If you have up to 20 people, 4 bottles of booze goes nowhere, so people will be pissed as people will literally go without a single drink.

If I were you, id call up Bobby Yeadon, ask for the 2grey goose, 2moet deal. Say you want to do that deal 4 times over. His handshake would be $400 I imagine to sort that for you, usually its $300 but its a big group so give him $400. So...

      4 x 2 grey goose / 2 moet: 4x$595 approx $2400
      Handshake to Bobby: $400
Tax and grat at 30%: $720
Other tips for security etc: $100

Thats $3620 so slightly over. However that'll guarantee you A) a better table in Tryst than youd get at XS, Hakkasan, Light or Marquee. B) a shit load more alcohol to cater for your party

Tryst is also impressive. Very plush, waterfall... its a great club. Message Bobby on 708.714.0280 and he will sort it for you. You can do this on the Thursday or Friday night.

        1. check lineups usually released 4-6-8 weeks out- who the dj is
each club also has exclusive resident djs so you can check that and see where one of your groups favorites will be
        2. presale tickets is a good way to check a club out
        3. You can get free limo/free entry/$100 bottles at strip clubs during happy hour usually before 8pm or 9pm

if you do it right and see the dj you like with a good location and reasonable minimum/ bottle prices you will be hooked if you do it wrong get a bad location/high price/don't like dj you might not come back

If you're doing ONE night you have to do XS.
i'm not sure how you guys are relating to girls....but if you want girls xs is the place to be.
Say whatever you want and some people might not agree with me, light has a good show, hakkasan has a sick lineup and marquee is similar to xs depending on whos playing.
But XS is the shit...top grossing because is one of the popular ones.
Text bobby, you should get a good table on friday. NYE is gonna be sick but prices are off the charts...3.5k wont get you anything good.
Ill be there same dates as you and also doing xs friday. You can do GA other days so you get to know the other clubs...

That MY opinion --> Hit XS with bobby.

Great Info so far! My knowledge base and level of comfort is growing.

If i had to adjust my party to 4-6 guys and 4-6 girls (probable I will have more girls but you never know) what are my prices looking like? Since I am trying to pitch this to guys that have never done it before, I like to have as concrete a range as possible.

Am I safe to assume the following for: Tryst/Light/Surrender/XS(higher end so start with $2k min)

            Best night? Wed/thurs/fri?

            $400 per 3 people
$100 server grat per 3 people
            $40 tax per 3 people
$100 host tip per 3 people
$50 to security per 3 people

            $700 per 3 people?

Use that same equation and maybe drop it down 10-15% once i hit 10+ for group discount?

Light is definitely looking like a top choice as well as Tryst. Everyone screams XS but as a starter I think I would go a bit softer in the beginning and ramp up in the summer for a spending spree at something like that. I am big on epic light shows.

I see that 2x goose/moet for $600 a lot and think that might be a solid plan. Either roll with that and $2-400 in tips or double it.

Thanks for the reply Renator. I will mark Friday XS up there on the charts and see where the planning goes.

Mins tend to rise as you add people, not drop. (They know that the more people you add the more alcohol you'll need. Plus finding space for that many people naturally leads you to higher min tables.) If you're only doing one night, Light will have the most 'wow' factor. XS is a beautiful space, but you might have a hard time getting a min in your budget if one of the big dog DJ's is there.

Just keep an eye out here, get in contact with the hosts from the various venues to see what they can do for you during your trip, and which way the mins are trending.

For me XS is still the best club in Vegas.

Light is great, but to really enjoy it you need a dancefloor or tier 1 table to get the most of it. They cost thousands so arent an option for this. For me, tier 2 up by the mezzanine is too far removed from the action.

OP - If I were you and youre trying to impress these people for whatever reason, you need to first ensure they have enough alcohol to have a crazy night. If you go to a tier 1 club like XS, Marquee, Light, Hakkasan, you arent going to get that, because the tax/grat is 40% plus a handshake.

Your budget is not large enough to go to Tier 1 clubs. You're gonna end up with between 10 and 15 people by the looks of it, and 3-4 bottles is not enough for that size group mate. Youll have your people run out of booze and having to spend hundreds more than they thought to keep up the fun. That isnt good.

To enjoy the Tier 1's with big groups you need big minimums as you need the bigger and therefore more expensive tables. I went with a group of 10 last year and we were going in with $6k minimums, for both large tables and lots of alcohol.

Dont make the mistake of getting a small table with 3 or 4 bottles and expect 10 to 15 people to have a great night off of 2 or 3 drinks. They wont appreciate paying hundreds of bucks for a gew vodka cranberries.

The only option I see for you is Tryst with a special deal as you have such a large group requirement and a low minimum.

Really $2-3k is what youd usually expect 3, 4 or 5 people to spend so you have to be creative as you are catering for 10 - 15 or even 20.

Big range on the budget. Make sure the $ amount you are thinking is good with everyone going and is committed to that number. Just say 15 peeps are going will they all be willing to dish out $200-$210 each for your $3500 max while 2k is only $135/person.

You also have to take into account non Vegas club goers take their current drinking pace/cost into effect and you may have some that only have 3 or 4 drinks and that $ amount doesn't calculate in their mind. 4 drinks back home is x and you want them to pay $135-$210 for those 4 drinks they would usually have back home? Experience, real estate, etc. doesn't come with a price to some. Especially if 7 or 8 of the guys never stepped inside a club. We ran into that this past July and had to break it down for the newbies.

I highly suggest, if you haven't already, to go back to Chuck's post above and check out the links to the floor layouts just so you have an idea of what you will be getting no matter what club. Honestly Tryst is your best bang for your $ and a great starting point to intro newbies into the LV world.

                  Hope this helps.

What tomm0 is saying is pretty spot on. You really got to figure out an exact or smaller range on number of people in your party. If you have the group of 20 your best bet is really the Goose/Moet deal with Tryst. For someone who has never been to a club your friends will probably be wowed by Tryst.

First let me say thanks for all your help you guys. Massive amount of incredibly relevant info.

Looks like my first three attempts will be Tryst -> Light -> XS

I will check the Host # thread, dial someone up and post my feedback when I return from my trip. Thanks again for the clear cut info.
