Anyone else been to vegas solo? Recommendations for bars?

hey i had originally planned my trip to go with my gf but we broke up and the airlines wouldnt refund my money so now im stuck going alone. Its only a two day trip but never gone alone and have always been with a group of friends. On friday night im getting BS with some members from forums but on saturday ill be riding solo.

For the most part im a pretty social person but still curious. what do you guys do when you go solo? just hit up the bars and gamble? anyone can point me to some good bars?

im a young guy only 24 so nothing too crazy.

Just curious but while the airline won't refund they will give you a credit for your amount spent on the ticket. You'd be on the hook for the ticket change fee and price difference when you rebook. Then you could use your ticket later when you grab some buddies. You can cancel the hotel and get refunded if within 72 hours of your stay.

You might still have a chance to bail out.

If you're a cool guy you'll make friends and have a good time. It's that simple.

Plus, you get to do whatever YOU want, whenever YOU want it. No gf around to nag at you. Wanna spend 8 hours straight playing blackjack and getting trashed with comped booze? Sure! Head to a strip club during midday for some bad decisions? Why not! Chat up that friendly attractive chick who for some strange reason is all alone at the casino bar at 4am? Uh... sure! (Keeping in mind that her "shift" has probably just started.)

I don't suggest that these activities cannot be commenced with groups of people, but when you're riding solo it cuts out all the logistical frustration. You can jump into or bail out of any situation without having to convince your friends to go along.

Sounds like you are committed. I have been through Vegas solo for work stuff. I usually hit the pool and relaxed during the day and then would gamble at night. Never really did any solo bottle service or anything like that. But, if you do gamble, always find the table with the most people. If you get a friendly spot, you can meet some people, get a nice run and make some $$$, then head out with them for a few drinks. I have done that a few times and had a blast.

Also, I have heard some times it is hard to meet people from the forums for bottles. Sometimes people flake out, so just be prepared, you never know.

Man if you can't make friends in Vegas you can't make any anywhere! This coming from someone who's a little on the quiet/reserved side. I'll roll out there solo and at the parties people will come up to you giving you high fives and taking pics with you for no reason at all lol. Very friendly vibe out there

If you can. Do bottle service solo.

You will look like a champ... a mystery about you. Your host will generally help with bringing friendlies to your table. Plus the security can be used to scout as well. Your host will hang with you as well. Its kinda cool. I did it and want to do it AGAIN and AGAIN!!

Most nights I have spent in Vegas, I have ended up split from my friends having made new ones. It's happened so many times now, that it is my norm. Don't worry, you will make friends anywhere, even when you don't expect it. You'll be surprised by how many new friends a "hi" get you in Vegas..whether it's a hotel bar, the club, the street, the casino, the buffet... just don't be creepy about it.

Happened to me Friday night. Buddy drank way to much during the day and couldn't go out. Didn't want to miss Dash Berlin so went to Marquee solo and ended up meeting a chick who was in the same situation. Great night.

Couldn't agree more! I always have more fun going solo. Its time to break out of your shell and talk a good game. But you did ask about some bars...Of course all the clubs that everyone mentions here are solid...depends on your taste...I highly recommend the Bond Bar and Chandelier Bar right next to it, both at the Cosmo.

I do vegas solo about half the time. Even when I come with friends, I usually end up wandering off somewhere. I go out clubbing every day and night. I just pick my favorite venue/DJ and go from there. Hit the casino before you go out, tip your cocktailer well, drink a lot, head inside.
If you have the budget to do it, do bottle service. You will not regret it.
Also, check the forums for people who will be there around your time. We are all pretty friendly here.
