First trip to Vegas - help out a couple of 40 somethings who like to dance

Hi there,

Coming to LV for the first time in 3 weeks. Have 3 nights at Palazzo (Tues to Thurs) and 4 nights at Cosmo (Fri to Tues).

We both love to dance and would like to have at least 3 of our 7 nights in Vegas having a dance.

We are not bothered about bottle service, clubbing with the young and beautiful etc. Would be good to try out some of the mega clubs and also some of the smaller clubs I have read about that play older music (ie Vodoo etc).

Should we stick to lounges? Is Marquee :"too young". Can we get in Marquee as residents of the Cosmo? Which are the best cljubs (or lunges that play older music? 70's 80's 90's etc)

I'm 44 and I don't know any clubs that does 70's on up. Never went to Voodoo. No bonus being guests at Cosmo from what I understand. Lounges there are outstanding though when we went earlier this summer.

If you need to experience the mega clubs Hakkasan definitely. I have not gone to The Light nightclub but check out the reviews on here and their webpage, incredible. If there was only one I would say Light based on everything even after being at Hak. Have done Haze, XS and Tryst also and you can't lose going to any of them. Age is just a number in my mind.

Two other suggestions we experienced and enjoyed on our last trip which was 19 people from 29-47 years in age women and men:

First night in Vegas, Thursday, we all went to Toby Keith's bar at Harrah's. $20 for women all you can drink draft beer, wine and wells from 8 PM to 2 AM. Live band (primarily country) and a dj playing everything else while the band takes breaks. A ton of dancing and a great range in the age bracket. Very casual vs the expected dress up to go to the clubs. Guys drinks very affordable vs the insane pricing of the clubs. Good way for everyone to adjust from coming in from the east coast and start the trip on a chepaer side. 4th staright trip we started this way.

Carnival Court outside Harrahs. This is an outside venue. Again very casual and they do live bands and dj's at night. Bands really go all across the board. A lot of dancing and more of a street party type scenario. Wide age range there also with very affordable drink prices.

If you do any clubs I recommend to go pre sale so you don't have to wait on the long lines. I never used the hosts just to get into a club and a few in our group worked with the hosts and set up the tables in the past so no expeience with them personally, just the pre planned financial contribution to the debacle.

I also recommend Carnival Court for a wide range of music and dancing, even day drinking is awesome there! Revolution lounge used to be chill and also play a wide variety, but our last trip in April it's taken a more "hip-hop" vibe (Friday night). My friends are in lower to mid-30's and we love doing one night at Fremont street. Haven't been to Toby Keith yet (now im interested!) but we have fun at Gilleys @ TI, primerily country but some good classic rock and blues by a live band.

Oh I almost forgot, Gold Diggers up above Golden Nugget promotes 70's-80's music. Haven't been there but looks like fun with a nice view of Fremont street. And ANY bar/lounge at Cosmo is legit!

Gold Diggers definitely. Totally forgot that one. Outside patio area was playing EDM when we were there in July inside was a wide array of music. Look for the people right outside the Nugget with passes to get in free or else it's $10 per person. They were redoing the zip line when we were there in July, pretty cool thing to do down at Fremont Street. Insert Coins is also a cool place. Ton of the video games I grew up playing for a quarter like Asteroids, etc. Good map of the bars down there:

Yup Insert Coins is fun! More EDM good vibe, also a across the street is the Griffin, gothic rock dungeon paying 80's punk n rock. If your in the area both are worth checking out

Guests of the Cosmo used to be able to get into Marquee free on Friday - not sure if that is still the case. I'd ask at check-in if nobody here can confirm the current policy.
