I know this is super late but needed to thank some hosts that really held me and my group down for Memorial Day Weekend this past year. Starting to plan Labor Day Weekend so I needed to make sure to throw my recap up here albeit a couple months late.
Had a group of like 20+ so it was hard to navigate but we had a BLAST thanks to the guys below.
Friday
Day - Daylight
This was the grand opening day and Noah Ortiz hooked us up with an awesome cabana. He was easy to communicate with via text and came over to our cabana and hung out and had a drink. Very professional and helped me make sure people were able to get in easily. Love the cabana layouts at Daylight because you have the daybed in front of you where you're located (the girls with us loved that).
Night - 1Oak
Joey Orr did a great job at 1Oak. It was an insane night and we chose 1Oak because we wanted to hear a lot of hip hop and Future was performing. Hooked us up with a huge section that easily allowed about 23 or so of us to have a great time. I think they ended up shutting the front doors because they hit capacity but Joey really came through in getting the members of my party in.
Saturday
Day - Palms Pool
Martrell Fantroy got us 2 prime daybeds that overlooked the pool directly across from the stage where Big Sean was performing. Again, chose to go here for the hip hop and it was another party that ended up hitting capacity. Martrell helped us get in and we had a blast.
Saturday night we mainly gambled.
Sunday
Day - Rehab
Rehab was an absolute cluster this year. We initially worked with Joe Mirander and had all kinds of issues pop up. We had filled out a preauth about a month before and were bumped from that location and had our minimum raised. Then we had to go Friday night to pay in full and when we got there, we'd been bumped again. At that point, James Korpela did the best he could but we ended up with a cabana that didn't even face the main stage. Not to mention it took us almost two hours to gain entry because security lost control of the cabana check in room. It was absolute chaos. Did I mention that we paid in full Friday night? And we're not just talking $5 or $6k here. We spent a good chunk. I want to say it ended up being around $9k or so just because the demand was so high. I could be wrong. At any rate, my suggestion on big weekends like that is to go through a host who works the venue day in and day out so they can keep you aware of what's going on. Joe is a real good guy but independent I believe so he had no clue when we got bumped from our spots twice. At that point, it was too late and we took the last cabana. The worst part was when we finally got in, seeing that the cabana we were bumped from was vacant the entire day and random people were just walking by and sitting in there as they pleased. Pretty frustrating. We'd chosen to go there again for the hip hop (Diddy, Meek Mill and French Montana were performing). Not sure if I'd make that choice again if they have the same process for booking a cabana and gaining entry.
Night - Vanity
To try to make up for the Rehab debacle, Oliver Porter (who was working Rehab with James Korpella) put us at a great table at Vanity right next to Kevin Hart's table. We had a blast and literally stayed until 6am. lol
Main thing I'd point out for first timers is on a holiday weekend, arrive everywhere early. Even if that means just sending one from your party to be sat at your location, it gives you a better chance at a better location and locks you in. Make sure you check with your host to see if this is possible and coordinate how they will assist you in getting the rest of your party in.
