  • LDW - Too crowded?

Just got back from Vegas 2 weeks ago and was thinking about planning another trip cause we had such a good time. We'd be there only on Sunday and Monday of LDW.

That being said, it'll just be my lady and I. We will not be getting a table and plan on doing a bit of dancing/drinking all night. Though, we know it gets crazy for LDW. Does it get crazy to the point where the crowds make it unbearable? Our plans are Light or HAK on Sunday, and XS on Monday. I should note that we usually stay on the dance floor majority of the night. We're pretty used to the crowds there but we'd be kinda bummed out if it takes way too long to get drinks or into clubs.

I'm able to get hotel/flight for the same price as any other weekend. I always buy the pre-sales to avoid lines, so it looks like I won't be running into any up charges because of the holiday weekend? I'm guessing the drink prices are still the same?

Would you guys recommend going LDW to experience it? Or should I save it for a non holiday weekend? We're not super picky about the DJ, as long as the vibes are good!

The only place that gets too crowded on a holiday weekend is Marquee when Kaskade is playing. IMO

Is it too crowded? Well if you mean are the taxi lines ridiculous and the traffic horrible and the clubs so full you can't breathe then yep its too crowded

Depends on your reason for going.... if its just for a party weekend and the calendar doesn't matter i'd go a different weekend.

I am surprised your hotel room rates are the same... they are always jacked for fri/sat nights. sun/mon not as much. and presales prices will go up a lot the closer it gets to that weekend.

It's always a party weekend if I go to Vegas..

Besides the big DJs, any reason to head up during LDW? As I said, I'd only be going Sunday and Monday so while I imagine it will still be crowded, I'd think the most crowded days of the weekend would be Friday and Saturday.

My girlfriend likes Afrojack and he'll be @ XS on Monday.

Basically, I'm just looking for a reason to go this weekend vs later on

          Light has Nicky Romero Afterhours

Tao has kaskade for 6 hours

For the way you roll and the clubs you want to go to, I wouldn't do it. Hakkasan's dance floor is already barely breathable on nights with a Bigger DJ, lines and crowd to deal with the bar are ridiculous. I wouldn't go that weekend if I were a couple, unless doing BS maybe .

Thanks Kazflair. I figure at XS it might not be too bad as it's pretty spread out. At XS, for me at least, it isn't totally necessary to get on the dance floor, especially if it's a good DJ.

I can see HAK getting pretty crowded though. Would it be the same with Light? I haven't been there yet and I've heard so many good things about it. HAK on the other hand had so many bad reviews that I wasn't expecting to have a good time, but I had a fantastic time, though, I should note it was a Sunday where Kaskade was playing at Marquee so possibly not as crowded.

I'm pretty sure that was a result of competition from Hakk and Light that weekend especially since they were brand new with major names spinning.

XS tends to be GA friendly with the outside area, Light is also but not as much. Pools, EBC, Daylight, Wet bigger pools should be GA friendly still

the way I look at it is that nowadays the same djs play basically every weekend so why put up with the crowds and potentially higher prices to do the same thing you can do a week or two later/earlier with less hassle.

From my holiday weekend experience, the dance floors are the only places that get extremely crowded. These clubs are designed to hold a lot of people. I've had to tip my way back into the dance floor for Marquee and Surrender for big weekends before. Other than that, you should not have a problem making your way through big crowds.

The two shows I am most excited about for the weekend are Skrillex at Light and Above and Beyond at Surrender.
Skrillex on that sound system is going to be amazing...
