I'd be willing to bet you can get a good main room table at Tao for a $1000-1200 min and $300-400 host tip. How many are in your group? I did a $1200 min with $400 host tip on a Thursday with Dirty South and got a good main room table with a couple rounds of Traer-bombs This was over a year ago, and I think mins have lowered a bit at Tao due to demand...

Ive sent Chris a message, will see what he says. What tables are good to get? ive never been Tao so not sure of the layout. Had a look on the old locations thread but no joy. What is the moat? Is the tables 30, 31, 32 and 40, 41, 42?

Yes Moat is 30's and 40's table...other than the dance floor these are the best tables. I had the table labeled Moat 2 in this picture.
Those get good foot traffic from people going to the bar/dance floor and also up into the moat area and can be had for less minimum than the 30-40 tables. 20's would be next best.

One of those tables like I had is probably doable...just tell him what you want and he'll let you know if it's possible. Then just make sure you stay in touch and arrive when he tells you to. I got there at 10:15 to snag that table...and it was SLAMMED that night when I got there at 10:15
