Paypal deposit required for table at XS?

Hey guys,

I've been talking to a host that was referred by a friend of mine, and we're arranged for a table at XS this weekend. However, they are asking for a sizeable deposit for the front door fee. They want the deposit in their personal Paypal account prior to our arrival.

I am relatively new to this scene, and am wondering if this is a standard procedure. It seems very easy to simply walk away with the money, so I am hesitant to follow through with this.

Any thoughts or experiences you could share on this would be greatly appreciated!

Not standard procedure at all...never heard of this before...
change host maybe? im not sure and i might be wrong but for me it never happened and i've been alot to xs...
Use Bobby Yeadon for XS and u wont have a problem, solid host.

A host that works for the club wouldn't do this.

Just reserved a table with Bobby yesterday. Absolutely no deposit.

We had an inside table at XS a few Saturdays back - booked through Bobby Yeadon - no money/deposit etc required up front!!

Never heard of this before either. Even if the particular club/pool party required deposits (like Rehab does) they would send you official hotel documents and communicate through official email accounts, etc. Hosts that work for the clubs would never ask to be paid via a personal account upfront. I call BS on this one.

What has your friend said about that gave you the contact? Sounds to me the host your friend has refereed you to is possibly from a VIP hosting company rather than a direct host.
