Surrender splash dance dress code

Going to Surrender for 4th of July.
The thing is I don't like to show my feet out in public bc they are really messed up from playing sports. I want to wear shorts or swim trunks that night but I won't be getting in the pool. What kind of shoes or sneakers can I wear? I have gone to their ticket website and it says no athletic shoes, so that takes all my Nikes out of the picture. Are they really strict when it comes to shoes? Can you wear hats?

You can try some TOMS my buddy wore them to MDC last year with no issues.

I see a lot of guys wearing athletic sneakers during night time pool parties so you should be fine, but I think boat shoes looks better.

I always wear my big ass Keen sandals to pool parties and they never fail to get made fun of. BUT I don't care because they freaking rock and are super comfortable so f#ck them!

I think the website is confusing. Seems to display the normal dress code rules, but I dont think they apply for the splash dance event.
