Experienced Club goer/ Inexperienced planner

Hey Guys. My name is Jeff and I live in Maryland. I have been to Vegas about 20 times and most of those trips included BS at clubs. I am having a hard time since my best friend used to do all the planning, and I would just give him whatever he asked for either at the end of the night or before we started. We used to have a group of about 5-9 (including me and him) depending on the trip that would head out. Unfortunately about two years ago he died in a car crash, and since then I have been to Vegas but only on solo trips (Superbowl/NCAA tourney and once during the summer when I just did pre-sale). I finally convinced two of my better friends(some of the other friends have gotten married and can't go) that we should do a long Vegas weekend. But since this is my first time planning, I have a ton of questions. I have lurking for the last year and I joined about 6 months ago.

Here goes:
3 guys
Preference for Top 40/Hip Hop/ although no aversion to EDM
August 7-13
Would prefer to do BS
Not as concerned about who is headlining more concerned with crowd/atmosphere

Preliminary Itinerary:

Wed: I get in at 3PM, one of the others gets in at 9:30PM. (Probably just find a nice bar or lounge to catch up)
Thursday: Pool? Club Tryst Goose/Goose or Stoli/Stoli BS - Second friend gets in at 9PM so he may join us
Friday: Pool? Club - 1OAK BS hope to get a deal, but would like a decent table
Saturday: We wouldn't mind a BS pool party this day, but I am torn between EBC/Marquee/Daylight(don't know much about this one) - Presale club Marquee/Hak... Maybe strip club after/ or if we really like 1OAK maybe a repeat performance BS
Sunday: Pool (really going to party on Sat so may sleep in this day).. Club XS night swim (maybe BS)


1) I haven't seen a consistent answer when it comes to a good pool on Thursday. I know the parties are a lot less if non existent.
2) What are the odds of getting one of those good tables at Tryst (530/535/600/605)? I know my table min may make the difference.
3) For Friday's pool party what do you suggest (WET/Daylight/Marquee/EBC/Ditch) I really don't have a preference and I know things have changed in the last 2 years.
4) I see that tables 20/22/23/60 are quoted as the good tables at 1OAK, but I have no idea about table sizes because when I went I was with larger groups. 2-3 years ago.
5) Any suggestions for Saturdays pool party would be great. I really would like to be all in at 1200, but would be willing to stretch that to 1500 if I would get a better location or setup.

Real Noob questions:

1) Tip before you get to your table or after (seems to be mixed opinions)
2) Since I have never been on the hook beyond what my friend told me.. Do bottles come with mixers? (I have never looked at a bill)
3) Since there is some flexibility in my Pool schedule should I pre-sale or GA.. Don't want to pay for something I may not use.

I apologize for such a long post but I wanted you guys to have enough info to help me.

some things to think about:

1.While you might not care about the lineup or who is djing- some headline djs attract bigger crowds and also the style hip hop crowd, trance crowd, dubstep crowd etc. So I would recommend checking all club lineups to get a sense of whats going on in town and what you like best.
2. there are some good parties Wednesday night Surrender and Daylight Eclipse are both going on now- might think about that.
3. In terms of pools- remember its HOT in vegas in the summer time 100-105-110+ Thursday is a lot slower day then the weekend-
4. you usually get three mixers free like oj/cranberry. Redbull is extra charge.
5. I think there is a colton invasion going on the weekend your in town- that might save you some money if you want to see a bunch of clubs or find some people on these forums looking to split tables.

Preliminary schedule:
wed- think about checking out a club like surrender or daylight
thursday pool- personal choice what you want to checkout. daylight, tao beach, free hotel pool?
thursday night- hakkasan has been doing a lot of free entry. Hakkasan is HUGE and has two rooms main room and hip hop room.
Friday-Sunday really depends on lineups.

If I know the host and worked with them before I will tip at the table, if I've never worked with a host I tip when we meet at the line. These are for times when I am NOT trying to get a better table or location.

Bottle service generally comes with juices, but does not include bottled water or Red Bull(except I think Palms clubs throws a few in for free)

I can help with Thursday. I highly recommend Liquid for Thursday pool day. I went there as a 3 guy group and got a daybed for $300 F/B minimum. We were on the corner, right by the pool, it was a blast. Great crowd, good vibe. This only worked out because we reserved 2 chairs for three guys @ $150 F/B min per chair, but chairs were gone when we got there, so they kicked us down a daybed at $300 min. We showed up around 1pm, partied our faces off until closing and got out of there for around $700 out the door.

Thursday night, we did the Tryst 2 Goose, 2 Moet deal for $600. I tipped $300 for a better table (which was negotiated up front), and scored with table 220 that night. It is a highly recommended table on this forum, a "value" table I heard. I dealt with Bobby Yeadon @ Tryst and he was awesome, good straight shooter. 708-714-0280. He was highly recommended by all the vets here on this forum.

Just remember for Tryst, you can get the lower minimum deal (1 Grey/1 Moet), but to get a decent table, your looking at $200 tip easy. Otherwise, you will be out in the boonies by the waterfall. Table 220 is usually a higher minimum table, so we upped the tip to $300 to get it, and upped to $600 minimum from $450. I HIGHLY recommend this, it made our night. The 2 Moet was sweet cause it worked out nice when ladies wanted a drink, they dug the champagne.

Total bill for Tryst Thursday, will all taxes, tips, host tip, Red Bulls, waters, etc. $1200. Best money spent.

Thanks for the information on mixers I figured that there must be some limit on what they provided for free. So as far as tipping goes I can do it either at the door or at the table. I just didn't want there to be an awkward walk if I decided to wait until I got to the table.

What do you do if you hate the table?

I will do a few searches on here to find out a little more about Liquid (sounds like it could be a real possibility) Thursdays have always been hit or miss for me in Vegas. Just didn't want to drop too much money if the place is going to be dead.

OK here are a few more things I probably should have mentioned.

1) even though my budget is decent (1K/day) for clubs and/or pool parties. my buddies may be more in the $500/day range. which played a little into my original plans. Trying to get into the action on Thursday with BS but skipping BS on Saturday. Only doing on BS at pools vs everyday. Does this make sense?
2) I am actually in Vegas from Aug 7-18th which unfortunately doesn't include the August invasion I would have loved the chance to meet and possibly hangs with some of the memebers of the forum.
3) In the past when I did a full day pool party then club, I wasn't the one responsible for the final check so I would leave when I was done. I assume this will cause an issue if my friends want to stay longer or will I have to outlast them both during the day and at night?

3) That shouldn't be a problem at all. They usually make you pay before you get the bottle, so you can leave anytime. It was rare this past weekend that all 6 of my group made it to the end of the night.
