Getting the best table

Hi guys,

Been reading through all the posts and getting a lot of good info from the site. I was wondering the best way to go to negotiate a good table location?? A lot of folk are talking about tipping the host and looking after him and he will look after you.

My experience of bottle service has gone like this; being from the UK I tend to email a host and tell him how many is in my group and the. Host will email me back with a price, I then confirm this and turn up on the night and get shown to a table. So I guess my question is at what point do I give a "handshake" and how do I know what table I am getting before we sit down at it.

You can usually negotiate that before even showing up. Confirm with your host where your table will be, and if you don't like it, ask what it will take to get a better location. It's better if you have specific requests in mind. ie at Tryst I would be looking for tables surrounding the dancefloor but not on the dancefloor like 430,435,530,535,540,545,600,605.

Just be up front with exactly what you want...

1. Tell them what area you want (i.e. dancefloor, tier2, or group of table numbers)
A. Doing this makes lets them know that YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF
2. Tell them the minimum you want for that table/area and the tip you are willing to give for that spot
3. Make sure to tell them you are a JC Forum member
4. Get to the club early or whatever time they tell you and tip them the agreed upon amount immediately
A. If they are willing to get you into a table for a lower minimum than usual, you have to make that possible by getting there early

Don't ever expect a host to guarantee an exact table location. However, work with a reputable host that has some pull at the door, follow the steps above and you will maximize your chances at getting exactly what you want.

Thanks for that guys, the floor plans are a big help. Not arriving till August so time to plan and sort it out. It's only going to be 2 of us both guys, for example if we were offed a bottle for $600 on a Tuesday in 1oak what would be reasonable to offer for a bottle with a better table location? Including tip for host
