  • Table at 1Oak vs. Surrender

So 13 girls are doing the bachelorette thing on Saturday, June 1st. I got a quote for a table at 1Oak with 2 bottles for $600. Sweet! But now a friend's promoter friend says he can get us a table or cabana at Surrender (Lil Jon's there that night) for a $1500-$2000 minimum. What would you do? We haven't been to either club before, and we were thinking of just getting on a guest list for Friday night, instead of getting a table both nights. We're not totally broke, but not rolling in it either, haha. Thoughts?

Lil Jon is awful and I wouldn't recommend the cabanas at surrender unless you don't really want to mingle with people. The cabanas are way out of the action. I would do 1OAK if you wanted open format - and hopefully you used Joey Orr on here to land you a good deal at 1OAK
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

I stopped reading right there. Go to 1Oak. The Surrender cabanas are way out of the action.

Yeah, the whole thing seems a bit sketchy. Related question: are there levels of promoters? In other words, is this friend-of-a-friend only able to offer, say, a $1500 minimum at the very lowest; while a different Surrender promotor (maybe whoever is listed on this site) could offer a lower minimum, because he's a higher-level promoter? Thanks so much for helping out a Vegas noob!

All I'm saying is that my first trip to Vegas turned into a near-disaster because everything was "taken care of" by a "friend of a friend". Never again. Just go through a recommended host on this site. They can do everything (and much more) than whatever this "promoter" can do. Also, the term "promoter" can mean anything. In fact, it's basically lost its meaning at this point.

You can get solid real estate at Surrender that's down on the floor and possibly even in the middle. I'd recommend it for a large group like that. You're going to feel really crammed no matter where they put you at 1OAK.

And everyone here is right, you don't need a cabana at Surrender. That's when I always see the group of bored girls, in the cabana.
