What makes a Tier 1 club or a Tier 2 club? Is it on min spend, DJ, Hotness of the chicks, difficulty to get in? I mean i see 1OAK referred to as a Tier 2 but the best time i ever had in vegas was at 1OAK and i been to all of them. And are there any open format clubs that make the Tier 1 list. Just curious.

This has been discussed elsewhere, but in short its about the "opulence" of a club. 1OAK is considered a "Tier 1.5" club anyway (same as Tryst/Surrender). It's just below XS, Marquee, Hakkasan; but above pretty much the rest.EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

You could say clubs are considered tier 1, tier 2 based on the demand/popularity of the club. Most members prefer a tier 2 club with a better table location than a tier 1 with a horrible table location. Makes a world of a difference between a good night and a great night.2013 Calendar: March 20-21 (Treasure Island). May 24-27 (Cosmopolitan). June 23-25 (Mirage). July 18-22 (Cosmopolitan).
Next Trips: RETIRED.
Completed: (2012): mAyOD 2012 Invasion! (Palazzo). July 20-22 (Cosmopolitan). Dec 21-23 (Palazzo).
(2011): December 30-January 2(Palazzo). April 22-24(Venetian). May 13-15(Venetian). mAyOD 19-23(MonteCarlo). June 24-26(Aria). July 29-31(Bally's). August 19-21(PH Towers @ Westgate). October 14-16 (Aria).

Bang on!... I would much rather spend 2k on a prime location at a T2 then be stuck somewhere in the forest at a T1.
Best times I had in vegas nightclubs have all been at T2's
Now if I had 5k+ to spend for the night my thoughts may be different

I think what separates Tier 1 from Tier 2 is the size of the club, the opulence as someone mentioned, and the DJ talent. Obviously EDM is top dog in Vegas right now and attracts the most people and generally the hottest girls. The Tier 1's are going to get the biggest draws - Tiesto, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Kaskade etc...
I also like to look at like if you make music, crowd, table location, and price all equal which club would be your #1 choice?
Right now I feel like almost everyone would choose XS, Marquee, or Hakkasan. XS was far and away my favorite club before it became exclusively EDM
Tier 1 vs Tier 2 matters much less if you're into open format and a Tier 1.5/2 in Vegas still pretty much blows most non-Vegas clubs away.Last edited by not a vet but no rookie; 05-15-2013, 08:30 PM.2016 (past) - none

Exactly. My group of guys have fun at any tier so that really doesnt play a factor in our decision.Las Vegas is sort of like how God would do it if he had money. ~Steve Wynn

This actually really answered my question. Thanks. One other thing. How is this the ling-ling room on a weekend night? Is it worth getting a high $ table. I have 3 other open formats planned for a long weekend and wanted to check it out being is hot and new and at my hotel. Thanks again. The General

Honestly we planned the all MGM friday because of our spot at the skylofts, and we have learned that its easier to get chicks to come after party, when the digs are on site. More worried about move-ability of the talent than the cost of table. We are doing the skysuites at Aria on thurs day and doing an All Aria day (liquid/haze) for the same reason. Worked well last last memorial day getting them from wet back to the spot. looking to repeat, however, tryst was on my possibles for friday. But if ling ling is whack then, we would go elsewhere. If there are gonna be lots of chicks at ling ling, then we will go there.Originally posted by Jhaulotte View PostYou could throw Tryst in there for a possibility. I have been there on a Fri and music was open format. Little EDM, little top 40, a lot of hip hop, plus you could do it a better price than HakkThe General
