  • Getting table at the door on MDW

Wanted to know what you guys thought on the probability of trying to get a table at the door without prior rsvps. I normally contact a host or even pre-auth in advance but this time some girlfriend's will be with us so our plan is to try to leave them while they shop, gamble, etc and we go hit up a club.

Would it be difficult for 3 dudes to just walk up to a host and say "hey can we get a table for 3" when it's gonna be a madhouse everywhere? And I am assuming they are going to rape us on mins since we had no rsvps?

I'm even willing to go to a tier 2 place since it's MDW. Wanna stay between $1500-2k. Thanks.

Tier 2 you could be okay with this budget, but tier 1 in a short notice you'd probably get a bad table...not sure im making sense here...
When are you planning to go, saturday or sunday?

Why don't you contact the hosts now so you know where the pricing is at the very least? Since, you already know what you want to do, and your price point I can't see any sense in trying to haggle at the door.

im thinking fri or sat, depending on when we can flee the coop. last year for MDW I had to pre-auth for table (at Tryst) so I figured if I contacted host they would make me do so again. is it possible to reserve during MDW without pre-auth?

It might be, but generally they are going to want to make sure people don't flake so they DON'T have to haggle at the door. That weekend is crazy enough without having people clog the table line trying to score a table.
