Yes, if they're not already sold out. I've gotten pretty good deals negotiating at the front instead of beforehand on slow days/nights, but you always run the risk of them being sold out when you get there. Usually best to set up before the trip.
Unless it's a sellout event, walking up is a great way of getting a bargain: there are a ton of variables so you can't really plan or have expectations, but things can work out well. Just don't expect to walk up to XS or OMNIA on a Saturday night when Chainsmokers and Calvin Harris are in the lineup. It's a more effective strategy at tier 2 clubs or on slower weekends.
