Newbie questions!

Hi guys!

Loving the forum, has been very very helpful, as I begin to plan the finer details of my USA trip when I head there in 4 weeks time.

A small group of us are staying at the Bellagio, so the first question that comes to mind is the clubbing and bar scene within our hotel. What are the best nights to check out The Bank or surrounding bars/clubs? I understand The Bank is the main one?

All of us are very easy going in terms of music, hiphop to top 40's & definatly electro/house. Atmosphere important but we are also content with having a few to many drinks in a quieter more low key venue. Mainly after Bellagio related suggestions at this stage unless it is highly recommended to go elsewhere- As we are already considering Marquee/Tao as well.

No table service will be considered at this stage unfortunately, as this is a lengthy trip covering a lot of the States, so we need to be watching what we spend!

Finally- I have read mixed reviews and opinions on what is acceptable with regards to cameras etc. I was hoping I could pocket my small GoPro and get a couple of snaps and a few mins of dancefloor atmosphere? I guess this would depend on the club and the event? Unless I have misunderstood and they are more than happy for it.

Hyde and The Bank are the two clubs in Bellagio. Hyde is open every night as a lounge, and is a club on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. So you have two options right in your hotel. Hyde is superior in my opinion. Lilly is a great lounge in Bellagio as well.
I haven't made it into the sportsbook there yet, but others have said they're looser than most with the drinks.

You shouldn't have any problem taking your camera into the clubs. I wouldn't wear it mounted to your head...that's just not a good look

I would look at getting out of your hotel at least one or two nights. Hyde is meant to be great. The Bank less so.

there's many more far superior clubs in vegas. XS, Surrender, Tao, Tryst, The Light, Hakkasan to name a few.

what are the dates your there?
its worth looking at all the clubs lineups to see if there is a dj or event you would like to see

If you are at all interested in getting a table, I wouldn't completely rule out bottle service. If you aren't too picky about where you could go, you could snag some great deals. I've sometimes spent less on BS nights than I have on GA. It just depends on where you go, number of guys and girls, day of the week, etc.

Looks like everyone hit your original question spot on. However, I do want to mention if you want to stay within the general area, marquee is right next door at Cosmo

Hyde on our first Friday night will be arranged then. Perhaps skipping The Bank and spending a night at Marquee + Tao or Tryst.. from what I've read, all decent choices? In terms of nights we actually attend, we will be making that decision as we get into Vegas and plan things as we go.

Dates.. we arrive 30th May into vegas and depart 6th June. I haven't done extensive research as to whos Djing where, as I assumed being a little far out from now, not a lot would be confirmed just yet? But then again, LV clubbing is a totally different ball game to where i party in Sydney Aus, were we wait 3-4 weeks prior to the event to find out.

And thanks for the tip Rhymthz, will be keeping my eye out on prices then. Our group consists of myself & my girlfriend plus 2 other male friends. We will be making sure we get a weekend night in somewhere decent, but weekday partying will be sure to happen as well.

Also, try to get along to a pool party -- think Ivy Pool x 1 million. More people, more booze, more fun, less pretentious.
