Me and 5 of my buddies are trying to go to Vegas this summer but we're stuck on two dates and I would appreciate any input on which dates would be better. It's either the July 4th weekend or July 18th weekend. We're staying from Thursday to Monday. I mean better as in the club atmosphere or does it not matter which weekend we choose.

If you go during the weekend of the 18th you can join in on the July Invasion. I've never been on one but am shooting for the September dates. It sounds like a great deal and you can get more info in the Invasion thread.

Yeah...why overpay for everything and deal with crazy crowds on the 4th when you can rock an invasion the following weekend?

July 4th weekend is a big UFC fight weekend. I don't know if fight weekends make it better or worse but that weekend they have their fan expo in addition to the fights

Thanks for the replies, the invasion on the 18th does sound tempting but vegas ufc weekend on the 4th doesn't sound that bad either imo.

I went over on July 4th weekend 2 years ago and it was fantastic!!!! They had a UFC fight on in the hotel too, MGM Grand and the place was jumping! The atmosphere was brilliant! I'm from England so we didn't go to see the fight.
I am going over for the Mayweather fight in May and have got tickets, can't wait to TEAR IT UP!

I'd go with the Invasion over being there a holiday AND fight weekend. But I REALLY hate long lines. I unknowingly did a UFC weekend in Vegas and spent so much time waiting in line it ruined my buzz most nights. I've never done an Invasion, but that's the way I would go.

Looking at both weekends sure overall Vegas will be crazier/busier the holiday weekend with a UFC fight but that does come with higher prizes, longer lines and more cramped everything. If that's okay for you then you can do that. On the other hand Vegas will still be busy during the July 18th weekend where you would automatically have a group to hang out with by attending the invasion which is a great deal financially.

Thanks for all the input guys, man the decision just got so much more complicated haha. Invasion is a great deal financially but I wouldn't mind a crazy filled atmosphere especially since this would be the only time I'm going to Vegas this year.

It will still be crazy the week after. You might find more party people who will skip the holiday to avoid the increased cost. The summer months in Vegas are always busy, and if you've got a budget to consider a fight weekend can eat it up quick. Besides, the UFC is always in Vegas. UFC fight weekends aren't all that special.

For value and to get more out of you money, don't go on the 4th. The weekends are always packed, the major diff will prob be Sunday (will be slower than a holiday Sun)

Thanks for all the input, we've decided on July 18th. Now the decision is whether or not to purchase the invasion wristbands. Some people in the group want the freedom of choosing the venue and feels like the ticket kind of prohibits us from veering off the set schedule plus they think its too good to be true.

Everyone veers off schedule during the Invasions...depending on the lineup for July, two venues will probably cover the value of the bands.
