  • XS vs. Marquee vs. 1 OAK

Ok so me and my two friends have been here in Vegas since Wednesday, and so far we've been to LAX, Tryst, and Tao. The thing is that tomorrow (Saturday) is our last day and we can't decide on which club we should go to. We obviously want a Tier 1 club and the thing is that we prefer hip hop to techno. Tao was ridiculously packed when we were there, and if we can avoid the hell that is trying to walk through the dance floor to dance with girls that would be awesome.
We've never been to any of these clubs before, so any insight you guys have on this would be appreciated.
Once I get back to Cali I'm gonna introduce myself to you guys, but time is of the essence and we need to fiure out what club we're going to so we can figure out the best way to get in cheap/easy

Hey there. I'm actually in town right now, too. If you prefer hip hop over EDM, I would probably suggest 1OAK over XS and Marquee, since it is open format. However, if you decide to go to Marquee, there is the boom box room that plays 100% hip hop. Hope this helps a little!

        Music/Cheaper - 1Oak
        Venue - Marquee or XS

The Teir system isnt real and is just everyones opinion, but IMHO 1Oak isnt Tier 1. Its certainly not in the same class as Marquee and XS. Still a great club though.

Everyone on the forum seems to agree that XS and Marquee are tier 1. What other clubs are considered tier right now?

I don't think any of the other venues currently open are in the same class as XS and Marquee.

Hakkasan and Light are the next two contenders and both open in April.

              Surrender / 1OAK would be tier 1.5
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

I would go to XS with presale tickets
                http://xs.wantickets.com/Events/1223...-XS-Las-Vegas/

                XS- $40 entry
                1oak-$46 entry http://www.wantickets.com/Events/123...ng-Fling-1OAK/
Marquee-off sale- forget the ga line on a saturday

XS was #1 grossing club last year- definitively worth experiencing

Ok, let me ask this...is XS and Marquee so much nicer that it is worth paying 4-5k for a prime dance floor table vs. 1.3-1.5k for the same at a tier 1.5 or 2 club like 1OAK? I hear the fellas that say go big or go home, but seriously that's a big difference.

Speaking only for myself (and with my limited experience), it depends on what's important to you. In my case, I just want to get drunk and dance, and I don't really like EDM (blasphemy! I know! ), so XS didn't really do much for me when I went. I think it's a matter of what your group really wants out of the evening.
I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

For us the prime table is priority. And my above question.

They are definitely more opulent and have bigger/better lighting systems. They also have the big name DJ's which is the main reason prime tables are so much more expensive. If you're an average club goer, looking for a great experience, you can't go wrong with a dance floor table at a place like 1OAK. The only way I'd pay the premium is if I really wanted to see the DJ at a top tier club. And even then, probably wouldn't pay for a dance floor table.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

                            jjden-
another way to look at it:
                            Mirage casino opened in 1989
                            Encore casino opened in 2008
                            Cosmo casino opened in 2010
Encore and Cosmo are also two of the highest end hotels on the strip.

1oak- "1 of a kind" used to be Jet nightclub which was closed, upgraded and reopened as ‘1OAK'

Then we start talking DJS- las vegas/la based vs global DJS that have private planes and play to huge crowds all over the world.

You could buy two bottles of grey goose at a liquor store in vegas for $50 but you see where this is going.
A lot depends also on the day of the week/holiday vs non holiday weekend.

Unless you're a huge EDM fan and/or have a big budget, I would go with 1 OAK.
