Is this a mixed group? Bottle service isn't as expensive as you think.

Ex for General Admission or Guest List-

    10 guys cover at $50 = $500
    10 girls cover at $20 = $200
If your not on the guestlist you will have to tip the door staff to let you in.

Depending on where you go their might not be comp cover for girls on Guest list.

    Average drink price $15 x 4 drinks per person = $1200

    $1900

    Factor in
    Waiting in line 20-60minutes
Waiting for drinks at a bar thats slammed
Tipping every time you order a drink
Losing your partying without a home base

Why you should consider a table

Could do tier 2 or tier 3 and possibly get a good deal depending on the demographic of your group.

    ex - 10 guys 10 girls.

Work with a good host to guestlist your girls. See if you can get a buy 3 get 1 free somewhere. All in price for 4 bttls would probably be around $1800-2k. Close tab at beginning of night with waitress. Party the night away VIP with your entire party and 4 bottles for around the same price as General Admission.

I am an advocate for bottle service if there's two people, but if I had a group of that many I would def want a place to setup a base

The tip would be for the security guard in the area of your daybed/table/cabana. If you have a table/ daybed etc. you don't need tickets.

That's a large group to just be hanging around the bars and the like. The tables will at least give you guys a place to park it and a home base like it was mentioned. The excitement of just being there in Vegas, coupled with high dollar shot prices, you will probably go to the bar more than you think. Meaning, if you spent the same amount with the rest of your group, you can get that VIP experience that is worth $50 more per person and no waiting in the GA lines
