  • Big group question

Still in the planning stages but right now it looks like my group for November's vegas trip could be anywhere from 5 guys to 14 guys. We have 6 confirmed and 8 that are all maybes, depending on their work, and what not.

So the question is, with such a big group of guys would it be better to try and get just a single table or multiple tables? Also would it be better financially to get a table for a smaller group, then have the other guys guestlist/tip their way in?

Oh and the clubs that we are thinking of going to right now are The Act (confirmed), The Light (likely but waiting on reviews once it opens), Hakassan (see Light), Marquee or XS if either of the former is closed/bad reviews/etc...

Doubt reviews for Light/Hakkasan will be bad. I expect them to really step things up in Vegas.

In terms of how to manage your group size, it depends on your budget - you can get a smaller table and cut the cost down, BUT you won't be able to seat everyone and you also will have a table in a worse position. E.g. if you get a table for 3 and guestlist others, then you will be on patio unless you really up your minimum anyway.
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

If you do end up splitting the group up, get presales for the guys not going in the table group. Unless you have a solid relationship with a host I wouldn't bother trying to grease-in that many guys.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Is there a cutoff time to buy a presale for that night?

you can fit up to 10 people in most tables and with that many guys you should all pitch in and get the best location for your budget. Having guys pay cover and get in is pointless since you can put that money toward your minimum.

***Its important to go to the "right" club on the proper night. So make sure you ask for help on planning your trip when its closer and you have solidified your head count.
