  • Questions about MGM and Wet Republic/Hakkasan

So 3 of us guys are looking to go to Vegas the beginning of May.

Last time I stayed at MGM we could get into studio 51 for free. I don't think that is even open anymore.

    Here are my questions

    1. Can we get into Wet Repbulic and Hakkasan for free?
    2. If not free how much?
    3. What days are they open? We are looking to Sat, Sun, Mon, Come back Tues.
    4. Is wet republic only open during the day? or does it go into the night?

It is between MGM, Cosmo, and The mirage but all the new clubs at MGM is making us want to stay there. We just want to make sure there are some perks to staying at MGM with club pricing and days that they are open.

Thank you for all of your help!

Really wil depend on who's djing whe you're there.. Most hotels provide line pass privledges and sometimes free/reduced cover, but all bes are off with hakkasan and their Dj lineup..

But what nights are they open? Both Wet Republic and Hakkasan?

How much is average cover charge?

Again is Wet Republic just a day party or also open at night?

Basically we need to map out what we are doing each night and day..Sat, Sun, Mon

Wet Republic is just a day party that is best on Friday/Saturday (it's open all week, but these are its best days). From what I've read on here, hotel guests can get into Wet Republic before 1pm (see here http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthr...439#post202439)

Hakkasan will be open Friday and Saturday as well as an "industry night" (another day during the week which at this stage is unknown). While you most likely won't be able to get in free on Friday/Saturday to Hakkasan, you might be able to on the industry night.

If you are getting bottle service (not sure if you are or aren't) then it doesn't matter where you are staying. That is, it wouldn't matter if you had free entry or not at Wet Republic if you got a cabana there.

The problem is that at this stage no-one knows when Hakkasan/Light will be open other than Fri/Sat, so it means there are a lot of possibilities. Just choose whatever DJ you prefer that are spinning at the clubs below and mix'n'match the clubs so that you go to different ones.

The new nightclub Light @ Mandalay Bay will be open on April 26 and I would highly recommend checking that out when you are there (contact Noah Ortiz from these forums). There is also a dayclub called "Daylight" but not sure when that opens.

            Here are your options:

            Saturday day:
            *Wet Republic @ MGM
            *Marquee Dayclub @ Cosmopolitan
            *Encore Beach Club @ Encore
*Daylight @ Mandalay Bay (if open)

            Saturday night:
            *Light @ Mandalay Bay
            *Hakkasan @ MGM
            *XS @ Encore
            *Marquee nightclub @ Cosmopolitan
            *Surrender @ Encore

            Sunday day:
            *Encore Beach Club @ Encore
            *Marquee Dayclub @ Cosmopolitan
*Rehab @ HRH if you want a Spring Break type vibe
            *Daylight (if open)

            Sunday night:
            *XS @ Encore
*Light or Hakkasan (if open Sundays)

            Monday night:
            *XS @ Encore
            *Marquee nightclub @ Cosmopolitan
*Light or Hakkasan (if open Mondays)

Thank you for all your help....sounds like the Encore would be a great place to stay as well if you get into the day club and the ngiht clubs for cheap or free.

I think the Encore is a bit tight with those kinds of things. Cosmo gives a fair few perks (can't remember what exactly, but pretty sure you get entrance to the Dayclub on certain days and the nightclub on Monday)

Wynn/encore do not offer free entry for guests. They offer front of the line passes for $5 + cover from the concierge. Which in all honesty isn't a good deal. You can usually get tickets online for the same price or cheaper if you buy them early enough.

                      Good advice from the Cam-Man!

Anyway - im an MGM regular, to me its a great spot with the boys.

So MGM wise, I went there over Labor Day weekend last year and we were there for what you appear to be - all about pool parties and clubs. Wet republic is a perfect day spot for when you cant be arsed to travel outside for the proper pool parties at Encore Beach and Marquee Day Club. Its a low key party, its jumping coming 3-6pm and the people are great.

As ive said in other threads though - do not even entertain the idea of getting cabanas or bottle service there, its really not worth it. The layout is much better for the general admission customer and theres no issue getting to the bar etc as its massive. In my eyes the cabanas are too far removed from the action, and to be blunt about it, pretty boring. Youll just spend your time round the pool with the people slumming it!

Also - if you at A) staying at MGM and B) come down to the pool before 12, youll get free passes for Wet if you go in there before 1pm. The only time I paid to get in was Monday cos Laidback Luke was on. I went Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. The Sunday I went to Encore beach.

Its a great place to pull and pick up girls. As I said before very unpretentious and rowdy. Encore beach and Marquee are much better in my eyes, but Wet is still great.

Another thing - the cabana and day bed prices for Wet in my opinion are massive money this year. They are quoting $10k for a cabana with top talent. You can get the best cabana in Encore Beach for $7.5k and that is MUCH better. I imagine this is because the talent from Hakkasan will be playing at Wet so it will be busier. This is worth baring in mind. If Calvin Harris is playing Wet Republic it'll be rammed and expect to pay a bit more.

But just get out before midday and youll be fine.

With regard to Hakkasan - you wont get in free whatever happens. Forget that.

They will be crazy busy beginning of may as the club would have just opened. If you wanna get in get pre-sales id imagine 2 or 3 weeks in advance or suck up the cost and get a table. You should be able to get $1k - $2k minimum spend for 3.

Remember - whatever happens, wherever you go, bottle service or not - you will spend at LEAST $400 per night.

If I were you id plan Bottle Service at XS, Hakkasan and Encore Beach Club, and general admission / pre sale everywhere else.

Keep in mind Wet Republic just did some remodeling this winter, enlarging the bar, upgrading dj/sound system, etc which I am sure is all part of the plan to be the "day club" element to Hakkasan and their world class Dj's will be playing there during the day. In the tiers of dayclubs it seemed the past two summers its been tier 1 Marquee and EBC, with Wet Republic slightly behind them... Seems like that's going to change and the other two might be playing catch up...

So it sounds to me like no matter where you stay...none of the hotels offer free admission to any of the descent dayclubs/nightclubs other than MGM that lets you get into Wet Republic before 1 for free...

So maybe we should stay at MGM and do this

                              Saturday Day Wet Republic (free)
Saturday Night Hakkasaan (50 bucks genreal Admission??)

                              Sunday Day Wet Republic (Free)
                              Sunday Night XS (50 dollars??)

                              Monday Day Wet Republic (free)
                              Monday Night Marquee (50 dollars)

So for around 150.00 each plus alcohol we would have all our night and day set.....sound good???
