  • Eric Prydz at XS on March 8

    2 guys and 2 girls

The problem is we'll be watching the 10pm show of "O" at Bellagio that night. That means we can't get to XS until about 12:30 or 1 at best. What should we do to ensure get in?

Bottle service for just 4 people and inside the main room with Prydz is probably crazy expensive, right?

Are there any promoters that can get us entry without waiting in a long line at that time? Also worried about the club hitting capacity that late in the night.

    Thanks!

You can do a VIP walk in or GA, I'm taking clients to Tryst then XS late that same night. The club won't hit capacity I don't think now because the outside has been open. Prydz is popular but not like Avicii or Afrojack.. In this case, don't do presale because you have to go through that line vs the "VIP" way. Just have the cover charge and a tip ready and you can get in quick and easy. I suggest tipping, 100-125 for 4. If you need a contact let me know

Thanks! Yes, a contact would be great.

Are the tickets at the door usually about the same price as pre-sale? Right now, pre-sale on WantTickets is showing $22 for girls and $55 for men, plus a $7 service charge each.

That price sounds about right for GA.

          Maddhopps-
Have you been to xs before? You know about outside vs inside.
Generally the main DJ comes on around 1am.

Could you make 730 O show?
Nice to see you trying to make Prydz but its going to be cutting it close. In that you might make it to xs by 12:30-1am but do you want to spend a couple of hundred to just walk in and be outside?
If your going to try a handshake walk in on a Friday night I would make sure your dealing with someone who is reliable and isn't going to play games or raise the price on you at the last minute. Sometimes the price gets raised at the door. For example $30+fee presales might go to $50 at the door early then increase as it gets late.

I would try for an agreed upon price and keep 1245-1am in mind.
Also have a backup plan in case you run way late and your handshake flakes on you.

Are you saying that even if I make it through the line, they might walk us outside rather than let us stand inside to see Prydz?

Unfortunately, we already purchased tickets for the 10pm O show.

Sometimes xs runs two entrances an inside and outside. What I'm saying is if you get walked in the outside line and its full inside...

In theory it should be doable to go a mile and half down the road within an hour and half! But its a Friday night.
My vegas traffic horror story was going from the Encore to EDC-about 15 miles- it took 3 and half hours each way.

My biggest worry for you is if you don't have a relationship with a host at XS- that the person who is supposed to walk you in flakes on you because they don't have a relationship with you and there isn't that much in it for them if your thinking of tipping $100.

What might work is if you have a car. Valet the car in the north Valet at Bellagio.
              http://www.bellagio.com/files/proper...ropertyMap.pdf
Assuming the show ends around 11:30-1145pm get the car from the north valet and take I-15 or Industrial to the Encore self parking garage. That should get you to XS by around 1215. If you have presale tickets you should be ok- worst case you have 30-45 minutes to wait. XS is pretty good about people with presales and if the outside is open which it should be you should be ok.
The four presales are going to cost $175.
I think XS will have a good crowd because its a friday night but shouldn't be as nearly jammed as avicii, guetta, calvin harris- or holiday weekend.

I have no idea what you mean by being outside vs inside (I don't think he meant table, but just getting in the club). You can walk anywhere in the club. There's two entrances, table side and GL/GA side. When you are talking about VIP entry, the host can open the ropes for you or walk you down the aisle in front of everyone = line pass. If you don't want to wait in line, this is what you tip for, but don't just wing it on that. You could be tipping the wrong person as there's hosts, security, etc.. in front. PM for contacts there or hit Eric Chine. I'll be around that night if you need an intro to Eric or one of the guys there. You may not want to do presales because those have to used through the presale line, if I remember correctly. I don't think you can use those when you go through the line pass route and end up paying cover again. Not 100% sure, but I remember one time I did a walk in and a few guys had to pay cover again as they couldn't use presales in the route we took to cut line.

What I'm talking about is sometimes XS will have an entrance by the Encore Lobby where you enter thru the outside pool. So if you went thru that entrance and the inside of XS was full you might be chilling outside for a little till it dies down.

I've been emailing an XS host the past few days. He set up bottle service for a few of us at XS back in September.

In our email conversation, he told me if I buy pre-sale tickets, I probably wouldn't need his help. But I reminded him that I would be arriving during the busiest time of the night, so I asked whether I will need a handshake with a bouncer/host to get to the front. To which he responded that he would be out there at that time.

How much should I tip for 4 of us (2 guys/2 girls)? Do you suggest I make a deal with the host right now to establish an amount?

Do you have a plan to get over to XS quick?
You could ask what would the estimate be with no presales?
Keeping in mind presales are $175 total.

I think if you can get to XS by 12:15 you might be ok with just presales.

The show starts at 10pm and lasts about 90 minutes. Unfortunately, we'll have to cab it. That means racing out the door in our fancy theatre attire to grab a taxi. Even if the ride is 30 minutes, it looks like reaching there not too long after 12:15 is feasible. If we can do that (and if we have pre-sale tix), are you saying the line might be short enough that we won't even need the host's help?

Reasons why I think you will be ok with just presales:
                          1. SHM is playing LA 3/8-3/9 so 35,000 people who might normally make the vegas trip are staying in LA
                          2. Prydz is playing SF 3/9 2,000 person venue and its not sold out yet- by comparison SHM sold out 40,000 over 5 days in SF.
                          3. Only 2300 lookers on wantickets.com for event- it would be approaching 10k, 20k 30k, 40k+ if a huge event. avicii had 80k for xs nye
                          4. non holiday weekend
                          5. outside might be open
                          6. getting to xs by 12:15

Reasons you might need host entry:
                          1. getting to xs real late because of the cab

I don't think there is a cab stand in the north valet of bellagio but cabs do drop people off there if you could get a cab from the north valet and take 15 or industrial I think you would get to encore really quick.
If you have to walk thru the casino to the cab stand wait in line and then the cab takes the strip it could turn into an expensive time wasting disaster.

                            Thanks, Art. Fantastic analysis.

I'll call Bellagio to see if catching cabs from the north entrance is plausible. I'm expecting their official answer to be "no" in order to discourage that type of thing. Would it be worth me running to the street to grab the cab and taking it up to the doors to grab the other 3 people? I'm sure the cab-driver would love not having to wait in the queue.

FYI...I've never been as bored as I was during 'O'. It just drags on and on and the intermission entertainment is brutal.

Le Reve is MUCH better and would put you that much closer to XS.
