Vegas with my Ladyfriend: Mar. 2nd - Mar. 9th - XS Diplo Mar 4th

Hi everyone!

This is gonna be my first real trip to Vegas as an adult. My girlfriend and I, both in our mid-late twenties, are going to be meeting up there and hanging out together. Before you quote R. Kelly and say "don't bring yo bitch to the club, cause I gon' flirt with her" - we know how to have fun. It's kinda a romantic trip, kinda a sightseeing trip, but we're mostly just wanting to relax, lounge, drink, gamble a little bit, dance, and get crazy with some beautiful strangers. We're staying for 7 nights in one of the small Venetian suites, (though I'm hoping to upgrade to Palazzo with the $20 trick).

We both aren't typical club scene people (usually in the dirtiest dive bar around), but I wanna experience the Vegas clubs at least once. I really have no idea how it works. I've been reading stories on here and hearing tales of dropping $1,000 in a club a night and my head is spinning. I'm doing pretty well for my age, but I definitely would rather not spend anywhere close to $1,000.

Diplo is my favorite DJ, and he happens to be playing at XS on Monday, March 4th. I'm so fucking stoked. What's the best way to ensure we get in to see him play his set? Do we buy the passes linked on the XS Event Calendar? If I contact the XS host listed on the website, is he even going to want to talk to me if I'd rather spend $100 at the club instead of $1,000? Can my girlfriend get in free, but I have to pay?

Other suggestions for a crazy night out? Best strip club to go to with my lady? Best places to get free drinks while you gamble and talk to crazy old ladies? Or suggestions for a cheap night out when I lose all my gambling money while drinking those free drinks?

For Diplo, it's a monday I'm sure if you do general admission you should be fine as long as you get there early. If anything you can always contact a host to put you on guestlist if that's available on Mondays at XS, not sure how Mondays work at XS since it's not as busy as their weekends.

best strip club i would say is spearmint rhino. you can call their number and have a car pick you up and free admission. Venetian/Palazzo casinos aren't too bad with gambling and you're staying there so it's a short trip down the elevator.

General Admission = not buying presale tickets?

If I contact a host to put us on the guestlist, do I have a minimum monetary obligation to spend in the club? When you're on the guestlist do you get free admission like at a concert, or does it just let you skip the line? Is the host a guy who is gonna be standing around the entrance to the club? Do I tip him for putting me on the guestlist or just if I am getting hooked up with a table? I tried to find info about this in the "all about tipping" and I couldn't quite figure it out...

Yes General Admission (GA) would be just be to show up and pay cover there. There is no money minimum with the guest list. Guestlist usually is usually either no cover or reduced cover, and as far as the line, there is a separate line for guestlist thats typically much faster if not instant. I've never really heard of tipping for guestlist so I wouldn't worry about that.

For SpearmintRhino, the limo to the club and cover is free with no money minimum. Once I got the free ride over there and literally got two drinks and just sat and watched the clippers game then left. They know most people that come there will drop tons of money on drinks and strippers so for them that's where its worth while.

If you want to ensure entry for you and your chick just buy both of you general admission its not gonna cost more then 80-100 each and their is no spending minimums once your inside the bar.

And Spearmint Rhino is good, at least you can drink there, a few years ago we went to the fully nude strippers where you cant drink and that was like not being able to have popcorn at a movie

I'm going to just buy the presale tickets. The total for both of us including service fee is $62. I'm totally willing to spend that to see Diplo.

Even if we have tickets though, that doesn't guarantee us a way into the club if it's too crowded? So we should get there by 11:00pm?

You're guaranteed entry into the club as long as you arrive by the time it says on your ticket. If you get there after that and they've reached capacity then you'll have to wait until they start letting people in again (but will get priority over the GA line). Would think 10:30 - 11:00 would be safe.

Really? That would be great. I saw Diplo perform as Major Lazer here in Seattle last July and it was fucking incredible. Can't help but have a giant smile on my face whenever I hear his music.

Some of the hosts and the promotion guys go to bolero usually 10-11ish thy have drink tix..on the patio Etc... Go there mingle have a drink before hand. Good place to pregame. Even if you weren't on the gust list one of those guys would help.
