Light/Hakkasan Opening weekend

Myself and a couple of friends are looking at planning our next trip to Vegas for the last weekend in April, which from everything I've heard is the opening weekend for both Light and Hakkasan. There has been some concern about how busy it could be and whether prices will be higher. I hoped to gather some insight on what to expect and maybe about some experiences at other opening weekends in the past like xs and marquee.

I have talked to one of the hosts about that weekend but I hoped to hear a little from someone on the other side. I'm sure someone on this site has done opening weekends before and can share their experience! Specifically I just want to know what will be different and/or what we should do differently if anything from a regular night at the Vegas clubs.

I would anticipate both selling out and minimums being higher than normal because of the demand.

The minimums shouldn't be a problem, I was told 2 or 3 bottle min would be easy for Light which I'm fine with. If I remember hearing correctly marquee's minimums stayed up for weeks after their opening, is that safe to assume will be the case here as well (I.e. will coming say 3 weeks later really be much different, besides the obvious not "being there opening weekend)? Ill probably plan on just setting it up a bit more in advance than usual to avoid any sellout issues.

My friends other major concern is the openings getting pushed back and missing them this trip (especially since hakk already moved back from Nye to April now). What do you guys think are the chances of that?

Agreed on making reservation in advance and stay in touch with your host periodically.

They've already moved back the opening date back at least once, but they are both promoting the April 26th date, so I'd say you'll be OK.

I have been talking with Noah Ortiz about this weekend. It is only 3 guys, and possibly a few girls who may or may not come.

Noah would know better than me, but I remember the opening of a few places got crazy the closer to the date, minimums went higher, so keep checking, especially a day or so before. With a new club and word spreading, some last minute money guys come on the scene and throw down whatever to be at the new club. I've seen a little bit of the club, it will be awesome!
