Wondering if I should change dates.....

I planned to be in Vegas June 20-25, because its near the end of the WSOP and I play poker. Then I found out that AOD June Invasion is the same time period, sweet. But then, I was wondering why rates at hotels were so high during that period..... found out that its EDC weekend also!

Ok, so I am NOT into the EDC crowd. I dont really even like the music. With that in mind, I wonder if I should change dates. EDC is raising the hotel rates, airfare AND will most likely cause a price hike on cover charges and bottle service, and since I am not going for that reason, I feel silly paying those prices.

I picked those dates out of the blue, so I can change it, but now that I know Invasion is going to be happening...... I kinda want to keep those dates.

I see that the hotel rates and airfare are high for those dates, but am I right when thinking that cover charges and bottle service rates will be jacked up too?

Yeah you're pretty much right on all counts. Honestly if you don't like the music, don't really care for the A-list djs spinning that type of music then I'd pick another weekend to save you a couple thousand bucks. Also the clubs/dayclubs will be crazy packed and if you're not one to bump shoulders or grind ass just to get to the bar then that's another reason to rebook your dates. There are invasions April-August or September I can't remember but I think you're better off picking one of those weekends to rebook to.

Just to give you an idea of rates wise. Surrender EDC weekend on a saturday was 75 presale for men for Calvin Harris and he didn't get there till 2-2:30 when they usually go on at like 1. And the club was packed to the walls. I believe inside back wall tables at XS and Marquee were 5k-7.5k mins that weekend also.

I was there for EDC last year and, like you, I'm not into it.

If you have the flexibility. I would change your dates. It was funny at first, but we eventually got tired of the "hello kitty" crowd everywhere we went. EDC also attracts a very young crowd, which made me feel like I was partying with my daughter's friends even though she's only 14.

You'll also spend more and get less in return.

Thanks for the input. I was afraid i was right. Too bad its the same weekend as AOD June. We will have to explore other weekends and decide.
