10 guys - 3 day weekend in March

Haven't been to Vegas in a few years...coming to town with 9 or 10 guys in early March (couple wks before March madness)...looks like we are staying at Hard Rock. I am looking to a get a feel from the experts at what our nightclub options might be. I understand that with 10 guys we are not in an optimal situation. Can we get in anywhere with reservations or by contacting a host? We are not on a college kid budget so we can spend some $$ but there are limits. What kind of minimums are we looking at? If there is a club that might be more hip hop please share what you know.

Other question - seeing that we might be in a tough spot with nightclub options...what are the better hotel bar situations? Back in the day the Hard Rock bar was solid but I don't really know where its at now. I hear good things about the bars at Cosmo. Any new ideas or specifics at Cosmo? Obviously the goal is to find a good atmosphere with some solid music and a good male/female ratio. thanks y'all

What days are you in town, and generally what is your budget.

The bars at Cosmo are usually a great option, and are close enough to each other that you bounce around to find the right scene for your group. Most of the clubs now sell tickets for entry, so your options are not as limited as you might think. We can give you better adivice if we know when you'll be in town.

You will be paying a lot in cab fares though.

yeah - we knew we'd be off the path with hard rock but we like the suite we got and most of the guys have never stayed there so its a change of venue. in my experience you will always be hit with cab fares b/c we tend not to stay at the same place we play.

You're doing it wrong...Drunken walks are some of the best (free) times to be had in Vegas.

$200/person/night is pretty good. Thursday night you should be able to get a good minimum (probably $1200) in the Opium Room at Tao which is all hip-hop. $1200 minimum works out to $1760 after tax and server gratuity with a $200 host tip. Figure in another $100 for misc tips for a total of $1860 ($186/guy). You'll probably go over your minimum on mixers and waters or whatever so you should come out right around $200/guy.

Do the same minimum on Friday night and go to 1OAK. That should land you a good location.

Saturday night you can probably do a $1500 minimum at Hyde.

I will poll the group and see where we are at with #s and $... when we get closer I will hit up one of the hosts. What kind of advance notice might I need? 2-3 weeks enough?

Also, any thoughts out there on hotel/casino bars/lounges? Is it basically Cosmo and then all the rest? Does anywhere else stick out?

LOL....not a paying gig....just people helpin' people. 1 week in advance to book is plenty. When you book make sure you mention you are from the forums. It does matter.

Pellazo has some good bars....oh and DB's at Planet Hollywood is a new spot and supposed to be good.
I like MIX at THE Hotel for a place to get started for the night. Hyde is a lounge also on weeknights and before 10:30 on Friday/Saturday.
