  • Hotel/Bar Recommendations- December 15

My friends and I from vancouver (all 28-30) do a yearly boys night out since we graduated high school. Usually it is somewhere local, but this year 14 of us decided to step it up a notch and do a night in vegas (more like 15 hours, our flight arrives at 4pm and we are out on the 7am flight). We are going to the tragically hip concert at mandalay bay at 830, but other than that have no real plans.

I was hoping to go without a hotel, since we leave so early.. but a few of the guys aren't quite as hardcore as me so i figure we need to get somewhere for a home base and for the few guys that inevitably pass out. The original plan was to get a room at MB, but based on recent reviews it sounds like with everything being renovated there currently that the vibe/gambling in the casino is pretty tame plus it is a little out of the way of everything else. Obviously we aren't looking to spend a tonne of money since we aren't really going to be there for any length of time but are looking for a hotel that has a good gambling/party vibe throughout the day and night. Was thinking maybe Cosmo, but also read on here that the gambling vibe there is kind of weak. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

As far as nightlife goes for after the concert, the crew that i am with is probably not into the bottle service/mega club scene. Looking for something more along the lines of a bar/lounge but somewhere that will be busy with a good vibe and definitely with some girls around. We used to make a regular appearance when we were in vegas at the piano bar at NY/NY but I found the last few times that i was there that it doesn't have the allure that it once did. Something along those lines though.

Anyways, any tips/suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated

Do Cosmo...even though it's not technically a big spot for gambling their is SO much going on around the casino floor it doesn't matter. There's like 5 different bars on the casino floor alone, all a little different, one has a DJ and go-go dancers, another is like a darker lounge, another has a pub kind of feel, one with live music of some kind, and the Chandlier bar has a good mixed crowd. Then if some of you are feeling like a club you could go to Marquee without leaving the rest of the group on the other end of the strip.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

I stayed at PH this last time and it was so easy to get to the Cosmopolitan.
