NYE outside on the strip

We have been doing NYE in Vegas for over 10 years and always book a concert or band at Ghost Bar for that night. The Chili Peppers sold out this year and we dont see anything else we're interested in. We have never partied out on the strip for NYE, so we decided to roll the dice. Reasons for not doing it in the past....its cold, port-o-lets, and cant get into casinos without a room key. We'll have rooms at PH, Paris and TheHotel. I'd like to hear from some peeps that have done it, some pro's, cons, what block is best, what goes on, advice. Thanks!!
