  • NYE and club question

Hello! Planning our first NYE in Las Vegas and would really like to be at a club that will allow us a view of the fireworks at midnight. Considering Midnight in Paris or Pure at Caesars or Marquee. We are a couple in early 40's and want to enjoy drinks and dancing to ring in the new year. We've never been to any of the clubs in Vegas before.

So, here is my question.....are we too "old" for either of these clubs?....or any of the clubs for that matter on NYE? We certainly do not want to be out of place, but, we want to enjoy a memorable evening of music and dancing and the fireworks. We'd prefer to be "in" somewhere than just out on the strip in the crowds.

What would you suggest in place of the clubs I've suggested if we are out of our element?

Thanks in advance for the help

Attitude is far more important than age when it comes to fitting in. If you want to dance and party, nobody cares how old you are.

Choice of venue should be based on the experience you want and/or how much you're willing to spend. If you want a table, and aren't on a tight budget, do Marquee and get a table on the Terrace and don't look back.

If that's over your budget and you still want a table, then I'd put Pure at my #2. You might consider Ghost Bar as well. I'm sure they'll have a great New Years party, and the view of the fireworks will be out of this world.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Thanks for the vote! I was considering Chateau at Paris since that's where we are staying and thought that it would be easiest to avoid the crowded street.

Budget may not allow Marquee since we're already doing Cirque Love and The Eagles concert.

Any opinion on Chateau and Midnight in Paris?

        You can do much better.

Do you want bottle service or just guaranteed admission? If bottle service, what is your budget? If guaranteed admission, I'm sure many clubs will be selling pre-sale tickets.

Probably just GA because my husband does not drink so I can't see bottle service being worth it for us (although I admit, I'm not that familar with how it all works) especially since we don't have anyone traveling with us to share it with. But I would have liked to have a seat instead of standing the whole night.

Universal is right...especially if your husband doesn't drink. Presales to Marquee will be the way to go. You can probably meet up with some folks that won't mind you grabbin a seat for a minute on the terrace with them. Love is absolutely awesome by the way!

Thanks to both of you! Ok, since you're willing to answer (and help a newbie)... How about dress code? I did read the dress code section of this website. My husband falls right in to the untucked collar shirts that was mentioned on the guidelines. LOL! Once again not wanting to stand out (like the tourists from Chicago that we are), should my husband ditch the collared shirt, wear a jacket with it or not? I was wanting to wear a cocktail dress.

Personally....I'd suit up on New Years Eve....could he get by with jeans and collared shirt....probably....but let's be honest, you'd rather he suit up right? So just tell him Chuck said he has to wear a suit

                  Are you nuts???
                  Your in your 40s.
That's not even close to being too old.
                  Nowhere near it!
I see people well into their 50s--EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
                  Go...have fun...enjoy yourself...and don't give a shit about anybody that says otherwise.
                  Trust me...your GONNA have fun!

WOW, Chuck, I totally agree with you about the suit!!! He doesn't mind dressing up, but I think he's worried about looking stuffy and "old" in a suit.

Marquee is $150 general admission or $50 GA for women. How do I find out table prices? The Marquee website has a request page but no other info.

Table prices won't be set until middle of December...but patio tables will probably be about $1500 for NYE.
If you can find some other folks to split with that would be ideal. Where did you get the $150 GA figure?

From Marquee's website. Clicked on the NYE event and then buy tickets. It listed GA as $150 and then GA for women $50.

I see they have a 2 hour open bar and champagne toast included...that's a damn good value. To compare, say you did split bottle service and could land a patio table for $1500 minimum. That would cost you and hubby $700 if you split evenly with everyone. Sooo...here's what I'd do....

Post on the Get Connected forums that you're looking for a group to meet up with at Marquee on NYE. Offer to chip in $300 since your husband doesn't drink anyway. That's only $100 more than the price of admission and would get a place to call home for the night. $100 well spent IMO. If that doesn't work out, just buy the presale tickets off the website and go party your face off.

Just checked out Hyde Bellagio and the ticket is offering $125 for 9pm with passed hors d'ouvres and open bar, champagne at midnight.

                            Any opinion on Hyde?

Hyde is awesome...much smaller venue...but really cool. The patio is pretty small though, probably only 10% of the people there that night will be able to get out onto the patio to see fireworks (if seeing the fireworks is high on your list).
