Weekend after NYE .. is Vegas dead?

So NYE is on a Monday this year, with New Years Day being Tuesday. I'm currently browsing rates to Jan 4-7 (Friday-Monday) and its dirt cheap! Anyone have any comments about this? Is Vegas dead that weekend? NFL Playoffs are starting Sat/Sun that weekend and it is also my birthday weekend.

It won't be dead.

I used to go the weekend after NYE every year because it was cheaper and the NFL playoffs. Always had a great time.

Of course it's not crazy packed but it's busy enough.

I think it's also cheap because right after that is CES, then in general, the rooms prices rise.

Yep. Prices are spiked through the roof for the 7th to 10th. Stay away those dates, unless you're working/attending the show, or partying with Ashroid that week..

So true. Unless you live there, there's really no such thing as quiet/busy in vegas, its just varying degress of crazy

And in my experience more crowded doesn't necessarily mean more crazy. The degrees of craziness is largely dependent on you and your group

It will be one of the busiest non holiday weekends of the year. The 148,000 person CES convention starts on the 8th and everyone gets in town a couple of days prior. If you need help with anything or have any other questions, let me know

well the weekend after is the avn awards/expo so im sure vegas will be pretty packed but probably mostly dudes. gonna be there that weekend (not for the avn thing, just to party) so hopefully the dude-statement doesnt hold true

I think AVN starts on the 16th. So the weekend after CES is the weekend before AVN. If that makes sense. Sort of.
