  • 30th Bday in Vegas

I have been reading some of the posts on this website which have some fantastic info, and sadly realising i wont get to do everything in our 5 day trip in December!

So to you experts out there, myself and a group of friends will be coming to Vegas on 12 Dec (Weds) for 5 nights, and are looking for suggestions on best places to go, guestlists to get on etc. We are a group of 7 age range from 22-35 (3 Girls, 4 Guys). We are looking for a few good places to have a dance and a good time, Top 40, R&B, dance music - maybe do bottle/table service a couple of nights, but on a budget of approx $150-200 per person.

Also it will be my brothers 30th Bday one of the days we are there (Thurs), will be looking to go somewhere good to eat and then onto one of the clubs - so also looking for recommendations for decent priced (upto $50 per person for food) good restaurants (i know there are hundreds!!!)

How far in advance will i need to book tables etc?

Thanks in advance for any help given!!

Maximize savings by putting the women on a guest list, but still contributing to the bottle service.

For example: book 3 guys for bottle service, get the women on a guest list (they'll likely have a short wait as long as you get there early and contact a host).

Many clubs seem to be migrating to the table spending minimum structure; i.e. spend 500.00 minimum for this many people, hence book the guys for the table and get the girls on guest list since they won`t count to your table as they`ve entered separately from your group. You can just reconnect with them when both groups are inside.

You may be able to arrange with a host of the club(s) you choose to request do bottle minimums also.

If this doesn`t fit into your budget, look up clubs you`d like to go and see if they have pre-sale tickets. This will especially be helpful for really big name DJs at clubs such as Marquee and XS.

I can`t see it being too much of an issue in December though. You`re going a week after the marathon and the Rodeo.
    FO SHO.

We celebrated my wife's 30th birthday in Vegas with a group of 6 (including ourselves) not too long ago. Our friends that went were on a tighter budget, and we wanted to go big on her birthday night. Her birthday night looked like this...

Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi - $50/person
Escalade Limo after dinner - $300 including tax/tips
Bottle Service at Tao - $1200 minimum (about $2300 after taxes and tips)

Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi was awesome for the price. The limo charter was a blast and a great way to have a few drinks and get ready for the club. Bottle service at Tao on a Thursday was a great time. That spend got us a great main room table location and with their reduced bottle prices on Thursdays we had a bottle of Grey Goose and 3 bottles of Champagne....oh and Chris hooked us up with two rounds of free shots. Needless to say it was an amazing night.

Dinners at $50/person is easy, as long as you take it easy on the booze at dinner. Last trip we did Comme Ca at Cosmo and it was great. We spend $320 for 4 people, but $100 of that was drinks. We all had more food than we could eat also. Don't be afraid to split entrees...you can always order more

As far as bottle service goes, we could have done it for less...in your case, if the 4 guys book the table, then you can get 1 bottle minimums. Keep in mind, the table location won't be great, but you'll have a table to hang at when you need to rest your feet for a minute or circle the wagons for a round of shots.

1 bottle will average $500 depending on what you buy, less on weekdays. Figure 30% to cover sales tax and server tip, $60 for security/runner tips, and $100 for your host tip, and voila...$810/7 people = $115

Depending on your overall budget for the trip...my personal nightlife lineup would look like this:

Wednesday Night: Hyde - do dinner and drinks here until 10:30pm then head over to Surrender (Guestlist)
Thursday Night: Dinner at Comme Ca then Haze for bottle service (do the limo if you can, you'll be glad you did)
      Friday Night: 1OAK bottle service
      Saturday Night: Marquee (Guestlist)
Sunday Night: MIX for dinner/drinks then to The Bank (Guestlist)
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

I am planning my 30th in Dec. as well (1st-4th). I plan on spending a ton on dinner as I will probably never eat like that ever again, so I booked the Picasso and Joel Robuchon (about $300/person).... As far as your price range, the only thing I have heard is to not miss breakfast at the Bouchon Bistro in the Venetian. They Serve b-fast from 7am to 1pm and can sneak outa there at about $50/person (first come first serve, no reservations). Also, the Buffet at the Bellagio has a buffet on Sat and Sun (7am-4pm) with UNLIMITED MIMOSAS! (Total about $40/person including tip).

I am not sure how far in advance you should be making reservations, but to be absolutely safe, I would suggest at least 3-4 weeks. But that does not mean you wont be able to just walk in many restaurants on the fly.

I notice you recomend haze on thursday even though you did tao for your wifes 30th. Does this mean you have done both on a thursday and haze come out on top? We did tao last time and LOVED it! Would like to try something different this time around. Does haze play the same kind of music and do both attract a similar crowd?

We had a great time at both, but preferred the layout at Haze. It felt more like one big party where as Tao is split up more. Tao started out playing Top40 then Dirty South started later and it was all EDM. Haze was open format all night, but I'm not sure who the DJ was that night. Honestly you can't go wrong either way.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
