It's a shame that theres no deep, tech house in vegas mind! However i've had my fill from the closing parties last week.. loco dice smashed space!

i was in ushuaia ibiza for a avicci party in july its a gr8 hotel but to be quite honest that hotel has kinda copy'd the vegas theme rather then ibiza coming to vegas i think ushuaia was vegas going to ibiza with the pool partys and so forth

What would make this different than the EDM clubs already in Vegas?
          Venetian/Palazzo/IP/Cosmo/Mirage

          My hotels of choice.

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

Personally I dont think "known" names elsewhere is going to make a difference in how successful a club is. It could be the most successful club in Ibiza but if it has a crappy line up, the place falls short of the Vegas standard of a top club, and is in a bad location, it can end up being a Tier 3 club immediately.

Look at what happened to Nikki Beach. Thats a well known name but it was at the Tropicana and it didnt keep a good line up of guests and celebrity DJs. Its gone now and theyre trying to redo it with Bagatelle Supperclub, another known name. Honestly at the end of the day, its at the Tropicana and unless the Trop revamps their image as the place to be, Bagatelle may end up as another forgotten spot.

The only reason I think Bagatelle may get some attention is when Hakkassan opens up at MGM. If Hak does pull in some good DJs and celebs, there will be some interest on that corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana Blvd. Other than that... Who thinks of the corner of Excalibur, NYNY, Tropicana and MGM as a nightlife spot in Vegas?

The Delano will have to make some big moves to get people to go that far end of the strip. Its the same way with Encore and Wynn. Club goers would never flock to that property if XS, Surrender and Tryst werent well known. They would stay mid strip where most of the clubs are on the block between Harmon to Flamingo blvd.

well the wynn properties have a deal with ultra records for all the top name EDM guys (deadmau5, afrojack, etc). the remainder have deals with marquee (ie, kaskade, benny benassi). which is why places like haze draw no big crowds...they cant bring in any DJs! the last remaining 'big' names in EDM are the underground guys (carl cox, loco dice, danny tenaglia...etc) who do not usually play in vegas...why? i dont know...it boggles my mind why any club doesnt sign them up...i know id rather see carl cox play than f#ckin kaskade (no offense to the kaskade fans). maybe its just the EDM scene in america...or las vegas...or maybe these guys are known for 10+ hour sets that wont go over well with the tourists.

regardless, it will be interesting to see what happens next year with hakkasan and delano opening. what theyre doing with hakkasan is huge....dont know if theyll succeeed with just the restaurant portion of it without a big club scene. i know deadmau5 has split with ultra records, so maybe someone can 'persuade' him to leave wynn....hakkassan definitely has the backers for it (ie; abu dhabi).

Because they havent sold out to commerical progressive house.

You really think america will get Deep, Tech and Acid House ?? You cant listen to that music in a fancy club with chairs and bottle service, its totally not that type of music.

Deep, Tech house needs to be played in a werehouse, with sweaty people, off your box and feeling the music.

Hardly the type of people vegas want to attract, although all americans should deffo experience a rave in a werehouse mind.

Some music goes well with vodka, some....well, you need something stronger.

10 hour sets = you're gonna need something stronger.

There are plenty of festivals all over US and smaller local venues for the deep and tech house. Its not that it doesnt exist in the US. Its just wont work with the format of how Vegas clubs are. Vegas has to be what can work for the masses. You cant deny that the purpose of these clubs are to sell tables, bottles, and cover fees. Its not to bring in the people who are in the scene with the "stronger" stuff to last 10hr sets. LOL.
There's no return in their money to keep open for that long. thats not the business model of a Vegas club. After a certain hour, the profitability per hour goes down. People start leaving and stop drinking. Why would you keep a club open that long if you know you're not selling anything. Festivals and warehouse raves are different. Those dont open 3-4 days a week with a staff that has to get paid.

You guys are true enthusiasts of that genre so you can understand. But if you go to Marquee or XS and see really knows what song is what. Even many of the people on the dancefloor have no idea what some of these progressive house that is playing is all about. They just like the way it sounds but dont really know the songs. So what more if you bring in Deep house. Most will be clueless of whats going on and they wont like it. How many times have I heard girls say to their friends... I wish they played more reg music or wish they played something they were familiar with. I gotta say at least a dozen times this year at XS and Marquee alone.

yup, i realize the vegas clubs have to appeal to the crowds from middle-america. the main reason i havent been to LV in 6 years is because of the crappy music they were playing back then (rap, top40). but im heading out there next month so i have my hopes up, mainstream EDM is better than no EDM. LOL
i still shake my head when i look at spyonvegas and napkinnights and see guys wearing suits and ties to go to marquee/XS and girls looking like theyre going to their prom. but drais had a good lineup during EDC, so maybe theres hope after all.
