In a couple of weeks, me and a group of about 14 friends (all 30 somethings, and mix of boys and girls) are coming over to Vegas. We have a few ideas for nights out, but I'm wondering the best way to go about it. We wanted to go to Chateau outdoor bar for our first night as I understand you can see the bellagio fountains from there? We talked about eating in the Eiffel Tower restaurant first. Ideally I'd prefer to reserve areas so that us ladies can sit down. Then on Thursday we are splitting for Girls and boys nights so looking to sort out another bar then dinner for the female half (somebody else is arranging the males). The other 4 nights we are there for we will probably decide what to do when we're there...
As we're all staying at the Encore/Wynn is it best to go through the concierge there?
There's a "host" listed on Jack Colton but as I'm only talking nights out and not gambling can I still use them?
    Any advice welcome...

If you want to see the Bellagio fountains from a lounge on Wednesday night go to Hyde. Reserve the table in the middle of the patio.

The Eiffel Tower restaurant is a great choice if you're good with spending about $100/person for dinner. If you want to spend a little less with great food and similar views go to Mon Ami Gabi.

What kind of place are you looking for on Thursday? If a club my Thursday recommendation is Haze. For a lounge I'd do Gold (assuming you went to Hyde on Wednesday).

I use the concierge at my hotel for dinner reservations. For nightlife reservations I'd just use Joey Orr to set everything up.
He can set you up anywhere in town and is a great guy to work with. His number is 586-873-4876
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Hyde is a great place to check out the fountains as Chuck said.

As far as Chateau. The Terrace area is pretty cool with good table spots to view the fountains as well. Its a little tighter area but its directly connected to walk inside the main floor of the nightclub. The next level up is the Chateau Gardens, which I think is one of the coolest spots to hang out as well with the Eiffel tower right below you and a better view of the fountains. The only thing about it is that you have to take an elevator up and the place is much bigger so if its not busy up there, it will seem empty.

Have fun with your group in Vegas!

I've been asked specifically for that restaurant and Chateau Gardens for the weds... this may be a strange question but what is the difference between a bar, lounge and club? in London the bars open earlier and close earlier but that is sometimes it, the bars still have DJs and music etc. would the same be the case for Chateau Gardens? We don't need a dance floor but some music would be good... and can I book if it's not a club?

For the Thursday we originally thought the chandelier bar at the Cosmo, followed by dinner at Lavo...

Also one last question but who is Joey Orr? is he a nightlife host?

        Thanks!

The nightlife in Las Vegas is different from how it is in many parts of the US. There really isnt a time when bars or clubs have to shut down. Compared to other places like California where alcohol cannot be sold and served after 2am. Las Vegas does not have that. So with that said, bars are open based on how busy they can be. So each place just depends on how busy that place is.
There are some bar/restaurants that are open until 4am such as PBR Bar at the Planet Hollywood/Miracle Mile shops. Most will close much earlier like 2-3am though because there just isnt as much business. All depends on weekday and weekend too.

Bars dont have cover charges. Lounges, there are some that have cover, some can be like casino bars with a lounge area so there is no cover for that. Some Lounges do have music and small dancefloor but not as big as clubs.
Clubs all have cover charges and of course usually has a dance floor area.

If you don't think your group would enjoy a place with extremely loud music and people partying like crazy people then a nightclub wouldn't be a good idea. Your plans sound good but other than dinner reservations there will be no need to setup a reservation with a host unless you want a table to sit at while at Chateau. Joey is a nightlife host, but if you're going to lounges there really isn't a need for a host on a weeknight.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

sounds like we're looking for a livelier lounge or bar rather than a club, but we definitly want somewhere to sit. I may just try to contact Chateau direct and see where I get first. Thanks for the help everyone...
