  • The Ultimate Showdown: XS vs. Marquee - What do you choose and why?

What's your pick between XS and Marquee and why?

  • #2
To start, both are great clubs in their own way. Some like one over the other due to certain preferences about each club.

Its really hard to say which one is best because for me personally, I go for the DJs that are there that night. So thats what determines if I go to XS or Marquee on a given night.

Here's a comparison between the two.

Outdoor: XS clearly has a larger outdoor area. Marquee's is smaller but regardless of size, both can get really packed on big nights even though XS is much bigger. I like the way Marquee outdoor is because everything is right there. The view of Aria, PH and surrounding hotels are pretty cool. XS is great too but its just huge out there so you can get lost amongst the crowd. I find it harder to get back inside at XS compared to Marquee.

Dancefloor: The XS dancefloor is a bit bigger and there are spots along the tables where you can hang out that is right outside the dancefloor area so you still feel like you're part of the lights/music. Marquee, when you're on the dancefloor, its pretty F'in sick. The stage is right there and theres a wall of lights. Throughout the night there are gogo dancers/performers that are on different level of the stage/wall doing their performance. On a busy night, when the dancefloor is packed, they block it off at times and you get stuck on the ring/walkway that circles the table areas before the dancefloor. There's ways to get back up in there, but if you dont know how, you're stuck circling the walkway. That happens to XS too when the inside is too packed and they limit the people coming inside. So its just part of the experience if youre there on a busy night.

Bars: There are several bars for both clubs. I have honestly never waited that long for a drink on any of these 2 clubs. So no complaints or comments there. Typical situation, 1-2 people ahead of you in most nights. Get your drink within 5min or so.

Crowd: Both Marquee and XS have great looking and diverse crowds. I've hung out with people from all over the world at both clubs. Toronto, FL, Sweden, Japan, Brazil, all over the US from college girls to rich Malibu entertainment people.

So which do I choose? It all depends on the DJ that night. I would go either or. I enjoy both clubs. But if I were to say I have a preference... I would say Marquee is my home club in Vegas.

Back at Vegas this Friday for Alesso at Marquee.

You had a great summary of the pros/cons of both.

I'm going with XS unless I'm desperate to have the option for hip-hop. I like XS's decor and overall layout better - the scene when you go in from the front and down the stairs is just sick. Don't know if it is bigger but the outside area at XS definitely feels better and I prefer gambling there.

I usually hit up both when I go to Vegas but if I only had one night it's going to be XS

Taking the DJ out of the equation, I prefer Marquee. Semantic though, as I always hit up both each trip

Enjoy both. Just wish Marquee's main room was a lot bigger. Like twice the size bigger.(the boom box room too)haha. It can turn into a sardine can in there once the headlining DJ is on. But it's great if you have a table inside. I like Marquee's patio as it's a great place to mingle. XS is so huge that it really never gets packed to the point where you can't even move; which I loathe the most about clubs.

It's mandatory I go to at least one of them for each Vegas trip. Can't really go wrong with either but if you put a gun to my head I'd go with XS

I've always had a better time at XS. Unless I'm dying to see the DJ at Marquee my choice would always be XS. I love the layout, the pool in the middle and the sound is great.

The thing I hate most about Marquee is what a mess it is to get in, having to go up/down fire escape stairs to get in/out and once the dance floor reaches capacity, you can't even stand around to see the DJ.

Nowadays I choose Marquee but hands down my favorite party in Vegas is Sunday Night Swim at xS.
              Next trip: ???

Love em both, Marquee could benefit if it was a bit bigger in the main room, I feel like the patio of Marquee is more detached from the club experience vs XS's patio still feels like you're in the middle of the party (at least on a big DJ night). If I only had one night, I'd go to XS.

I like the fact that at marquee, you don't have to hunt down a bartender for water. Both great clubs, though. Anyone have any insight as far to why the designed the main dance floor at marquee so small?

Because tables are taking over dance floors. As DJ AM once said: bottle service ruined nightclubs.

I like Marquee when it's dead. Anything more than that is unbearable. I think the layout is horrible, especially the major disconnect between the outside and inside.
