Large Group 1st wknd in Nov

Have a large group coming into town for a wedding the first weekend in November...I'm not used to planning for 30+ people!

Any thoughts on the best way to plan a couple of nights out for Friday and Saturday that won't be breaking the bank?

What's the best venue for large groups? We were hoping to get some tables together...

If music/celeb DJ isnt that important, I think the Tier 2 clubs maybe a decent choice. The popular clubs are usually always packed so its harder to get a deal on a big table. They'll want big money for it.

I would check out Gallery or Chateau. If Gallery isnt packed there is a back section that everyone can be together. Chateau has the upstairs section that everyone can be in one place. Call up surrender to see if they can get you one of the 2nd floor cabanas. It may not be packed 1st weekend Nov since its not summer crowd anymore so there maybe deals for a couple of those cabanas to keep everyone together.

I think the crowd is going to be "mixed income" if you know what I mean...so I think something that is reasonable enough so we can cover some of those not digging deep into their pockets

Is 4-6k anywhere near reasonable?

You're gonna be looking @ the 6k side. The "norm" at these clubs is 1 bottle per 3-4 people so after taxes and auto grat a bottle is gonna be about 600...10 bottles and should put you somewhere around the 6k mark

Steve...I've booked hotels for large groups before and would be happy to share with you some ways to save some money on that AND rack up some major points for yourself at the same time. Let me know if you're interested. Otherwise just stick with Joey and Dex and you've got nothing to worry about. They're great guys.

Personally if I were doing a group that size I'd strongly consider 1OAK or Haze. There are some nice large areas with a good view of the action that you could fit plenty of people in and the music is going to be more universally enjoyable by a wide variety of people. Bottle prices will be more reasonable than places like Surrender, so you'll get more bang for your buck.

True story here to bear in mind...I took my wife and some friends to Tao and spent big to get a decent table location. Afterwards, everyone had a good time, but even my wife wasn't chompin' at the bit to do it again. Last week I took her to 1OAK where the music was more to her liking, and we had a better table location, and now she can't wait to get our friends back again to do bottles with them at 1OAK or Haze. The big elaborate clubs are cool for sure, but if you're group isn't into the music then the novelty wears off quite quickly. Just food for thought...

Also may be worth mentioning, some of the people going out are chronicly late!! Is that going to be an issue if the host has to keep pulling our group out of line because their rollin' in off schedule?

You wont have to wait in line. Whoever shows up late can just go to the table add line and give the name of the person who booked the table and they will be let in.

Joey commented so PM him to see if theres a deal for that many people for the clubs he represents. Those are all great clubs to be at for that big of a group also.

I was just thinking Surrender outside in the cabanas because of the large group and Surrender may have excess cabanas that they can give out at a deal during the fall time. It maybe a little colder but they have those heaters sometimes to keep the area warm. I'm sure it wont be that windy yet 1st week Nov. I'm there during that time every year for a convention and weather is cool but not COLD.
