  • Where to take the GF next weekend?

I'm not much of a club-goer, and I need some help, so I'm hoping this place lives up to its reputation for being the best place to ask these types of questions.

By way of background, I love Vegas. I don't even know what number trip this is going to be (somewhere in the range of 25-30?), but I normally go 2-3 times a year, either by myself or with one or two of my friends. I mostly play blackjack and craps (not a low-roller, but not the sort of guy who can call up a host and ask for the moon and the stars), eat at a couple nice restaurants, drink some cocktails, etc. I've gone on a couple trips with bigger groups of guys where we've wound up at some club or other and just bought a bunch of bottles; not really into it, but fine.

However, I'm going next weekend (Friday afternoon to Monday morning) with a new girlfriend who really wants to go clubbing at least one night. I know nothing about this scene. We're staying at Bellagio, but I'm willing to go wherever, and I'm flexible on budget; I don't want to say that money is no object, but I'm also not looking for dollar beer night.

Do you guys have any suggestions for places that 1) this girl will like, and 2) will be accessible with a minimum of bullshit for a guy and a reasonably-cute blonde who are willing to pay money but don't want it to get out of hand? I really, really hate waiting in lines. I figure if I was going with a group of guys we could just buy bottles and throw money at the problem, but for just me and a girl, I have no idea how to approach this.

    Thanks!

I would suggest Hyde for you. It is in the Bellagio, you have great views of the fountains, it gets amazing reviews, and Anthony a JC approved host is there to take care of you. His number is 702-350-4070, text him and let him know what you need.

Hyde was actually one of my thoughts, especially I've gone there during the late-afternoon lounge hours for cocktails and liked it a lot (although I definitely do miss Fontana). But I've never gone there during the late-night club hours, what do things look like for someone who wants to have a good time but without dropping money on multiple bottles?

Well on the club nights things are gonna get wild and I am not sure what night you would go or whats going on so the bottle min COULD be 1. Another option could be a quality ultra lounge. You would get a less expensive bottle at one and still get a nice table, good atmoshpere, and quality music.

Does the type of music matter to her? And is she a hardcore club person that goes out every weekend with her girlfriends to dance their asses off? Or is she the girl that goes to a club, drinks and chats at the bar?

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

Go to Hyde at like 9....have Anthony set you up with a nice table by the fountains. Get your drink on then stay for the club afterwords. If you've already been at a table during lounge hours you can probably hang on to it with a 1 bottle buy at 10:30 and make a night of it. Or see if you can link up with another couple on the Get Connected thread, use the same plan and split 2 bottles.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

You guys are awesome, thanks. I think I'm going to shoot for Hyde (but probably wait a bit to get in touch with Anthony until I figure out for sure what her schedule is). I just realized that she gets in pretty late on Friday; do you guys think I'm better off, both in terms of cost and what the scene (and ease of access) will be like, if we try to go at like 11pm on Friday, or are we better off making an earlier night of it on Saturday? Really appreciate the help.

And is she a hardcore club person that goes out every weekend with her girlfriends to dance their asses off? Or is she the girl that goes to a club, drinks and chats at the bar?
She's really neither, to be honest; she's a full-time Ph.D. student who generally has no time to go out, let alone money to spend on going out. This is her first real vacation in the year we've been together, and I think she likes the concept of "going clubbing" as opposed to having anything specific in mind. Sounds like Hyde should be pretty decent for this.

You wouldnt be able to hold a table with a 1 bottle minimum at Hyde on Friday but you could do a bottle at the bar and waltz right in.

I was in vegas with my GF in April. Heading back to Vegas this weekend with another group of friends.

In April we did the following:

                  1) Book late dinner at TAO (10pm), eat and head straight into the club. You get in for free and bypass with dinner plus TAO has good food. Plus they give you a ticket card for TAO beach the next day. I highly recommend this because it's easy and you get 3 items off your checklist.
                  2) Booked dinner at Picasso (Bellagio). Beautiful restaurant and great view of Bellagio Fountains. Fine dining place. We dropped $480 for food, drinks and tips.
                  3) Phantom of the Opera (got a deal, 2 tickets for $99, show is closing soon I think), Viva Elvis (cheap, don't go cause show is crap, they are cancelling it), "O" at Bellagio (at at Picasso then saw show after dinner)
                  4) Daytime we did Grand Canyon + Hoover Dam. Bus tour is too long and wastes a whole day. Helicopter is too expensive so we took the plane tour. Only 3 hours long and can be done in the morning. Pickup and dropoff included. Check around, we booked for $220 for two people.
                  5) Went o gun range. Machine Gun Vegas was great and can be had for decent. Look around for coupons (usually $10 or $15 off any package or you get extra ammo rounds). I think basic packages are around $100.

                  Hope this helps. Cheers!
