Vegas delays

Is it just me, or is it every time you're headed to Vegas, you get delayed? Currently I am on a train from irvine to L.A. to meet my friend and drive to Vegas... The only problem.. The damn train broke down and is currently running about 2hrs late (yeah I'm one of those people who will actually take public transportation in California)... Normally I fly out of Denver, so I am no stranger to delays, (yesterday was only about 15 min to John Wayne).. So it got me thinking, anyone have any crazy or painful delays when traveling to/from sin city?

Luckily no. 3hrs 55mins getting there and 3hrs 15mins getting home.

A delayed connection cost me 24 hours once, but at least it was on the way home.

usually all good this end. although it does take 11 hours from london ;-)

This last weekend, I was stuck at the airport for 4 hours at the worst moment..waiting to fly back home!

with the new terminal that opened at LAS, this problem should start to get better and better if you're flying.

A delayed connection cost me 24 hours once, but at least it was on the way home.

Yeah same here...stuck in AZ overnight due to an apparent thunderstorm that somehow materialized despite the obvious lack of clouds and delayed our landing thus causing us to miss our connection. On the upside, I guess we got one more good night of drinking in before heading home! Lesson learned though, direct flights only from then on.

Direct flights are a must if available. We drive Green Bay to Milwaukee just for the direct flight. Gas and time driving there are well worth having the flight direct.

i personally love layovers, but any of you that know me, know how ADHD i am. love getting off the plane, stretching out and eating food that doesn't cost $70 on the plane.

I usually have more trouble on the way back vs the way there.

My longest delay on the way there has probably been an hour or so.

One time on the way home Delta just canceled an entire flight. Couldn't get a flight until the next day. They put me up in some decent hotel that was across from Hard Rock. My body was destroyed and so was my bank account so I chilled in the room all day watching NFL playoffs.

The best upside was that they gave me a first class ticket on the flight I took the next day

Yup this just happened to me on 4th of July. The plane that was supposed to take us to Vegas was stuck in Vegas with some kind of sensor malfunction. I was scarred and worried I wouldnt make it there. Lost 10 hours and I was pissed. And I had first class booked on the way up but they changed the plane and the plane was ALL economy seats. Pissed again. Missed my 1st night reservations...

Last year for Ldw I decided to meet friends in Cali then drive and there was a huge fire Friday in the desert and they closed the road. Missed one night then too.

Now I have a phobia for Ldw this year.
