Hakkasan & Bagatelle

What's the buzz on these two new things coming to town, I've heard good things about Bagatelle as a dining spot out in LA but nothing yet about Hakkasan as a nightclub or the whole Bagatelle Beach Concept?

Not sure if bagatelle can make it long term... Nobody goes or stays at tropicana. Ronovate all you want it's still tropicana. Hakkasan will do well because MGM is a popular and busy hotel.

Better question: When the hell are they going to demolish Excalibur? Even Circus Circus has surpassed it with it's renovations.

Supperclub thing will work if there was something worth going to. As in the food is real good and if there is some kind of show at the end like LA/SF Supperclub.

The nightclub itself has to at least bring in some decent DJs. Like Rain, its not in the top of the list of Vegas clubs, but its above average in that it brings in DJs such as Rusko, Jazzy Jeff, Sex Panther, Zen Freeman and special guest DJs. At least theres something to look forward to. They even do stuff like the Masquerade Lingerie nights and stuff like that.

If Hakkasan takes off and ends up being a big player in the Vegas club scene, Bagatelle can end up feeding off that and that corner of the strip can end up getting alot of action and visit from party goers. Right now, that corner is not the place to be. Who hangs out in that area? lol.

I agree with this statement. Hakkasan is (hopefully) exactly what the MGM needs to round out a hotel with great food options and the best hotel-within-hotel on the strip (Skylofts, Mansion). I know that when I book my next Skyloft I will (hopefully again) not feel like I'm trading a great room for being in proximity to the nightlife. Now the Trop will probably suffer, as you would have to pay me to stay in those rooms. However, as WT661 said, if I'm staying at the MGM again and there are good things being said about Bagatelle I would think about wondering over and checking it out. But if I'm staying on the North side of the strip (V/P mostly) I wouldn't go out of my way to check it out.

bagatelle looks really nice from what anthony posted, but yes I agree Tropicana is in a horrible spot but the rooms have been decently upgraded just not the outside, they really do need to get something going on that portion of the strip. Makes you wonder if someone will ever re do ICE cuz that place is just sitting vacant

Doesn't make sense to redo ice.. It's not in a hotel. All the best clubs are in the best hotels. Wynn, Cosmo, Venetian, bellagio, etc. busy/nice hotel=busy club.

It'd be good if the South Strip gets revitalized. I can't remember the last time I went further south then Cosmo.

This weekend I'm staying at Venetian and don't plan on going outside of Venetian/Palazzo and WynnCore. Not doing Marquee this trip so no real reason to venture far especially in this heat

Been to Bagatelle a few times, Sunday had a decent brunch crowd but nothing like Lavo Brunch Sat, and was totally dead at dinner on a Sat and Fri that I went. I think this one won't make it. Hakk will have a good ride, I'm interested in seeing the club design, not much details yet.
