Mixed feelings – trip report

I have some remarks. Did you knew before you left that your friends weren't the party type? If so, then you could have expected this to happen unfortunately. I perfectly recognize myself in your friends, however, I wouldn't go with my friends on a trip if I knew before that it would be a "party trip" because I know that I would be the odd one out. So if you told them that it would be a party trip and they still decided to go then IMHO they should have adapted a bit to your wishes.

So maybe next time try to inform them good before you leave

Well, it seems it's getting harder with age to find like-minded people. The friends I took along are long time friends (15 years+) and mind you we did drink hard on a regular basis...when we were younger!

It seems that some people get older faster; those friends I mentioned being some of them. I can't handle that much anymore either, and I am quite tame at home, but I thought hey, here's the chance for us oldies to let lose again for once miles away from home.

So as many of you said already: not everyone is meant to go to Vegas or at least not everyone has the same idea about it. So I guess I need to pick more carefully and selectively next time.

Don't let age be the factor. I, too, am 35 and the group I went with last year included some folks older than me. We tore through the town! However, I've also gone there with people who had the wrong mindset from the very beginning and we were totally bored the entire time. Next trip, take a different set of friends...
