I have come into town just for a quick meeting for work and not really bring anything but the clothes on my back and another shirt.
I did this 2 times last year not expecting to stay overnight, but just for a dinner meeting. Here's a quick Trip Review of what we did. LOL.
The drive from LA to Vegas(roundtrip costs $130). Get to Vegas around 6 and meet up with client to have Dinner at 7. Talk for couple hours and its 9pm. Me and a buddy are suppose to go back home same night and we decide to get drunk and stay instead. We call up Monte Carlo and get a room for ($110.00) last minute. We grab some water/juice at CVS along with deodorant, toothbrush, etc. ($20). Hit up VideoPoker at Heart Bar in Planet Hollywood and play $100 each. End up getting Soco/redbull, vodka/redbull as we play VP. Come up a few bucks on VP but break even with tips given to bartender. We decide to try to get in Gallery and got in free. Walked in and walked out. Was a summer weekend but pretty dead in there so we walk out. We walk over to Chateau and get in free too at around 10:30pm. Grab a drink($15) and walk around for a bit but it sucked in there so we walked over to Marquee.
Marquee was pretty packed so it wasnt easy to get in. Gave one of the fence guys $50 for both of us and we pass the line and pay another $50 each of us for cover. We get a few drinks, danced and drank with a couple girls all night.($150 each in drinks).
We knock out at 6am and wake up to head out for home at checkout time.
We pretty much spent between 2 of us about $300 each for that overnight trip. Basically what we had in our wallets at the time. You can do a trip for a decent price. Just have to plan it out and know your limits. We still had a great time with no bottles or doing any crazy gambling. Its what you make of it. The thing is, I rather have a simple night in Vegas like that, than nothing at all.
