  • Recommendations for a group in their thirties - Sep 12-17 2012

We have a group of four guys coming to Vegas the weekend of Sep 12-17 and are looking for suggestions on where to go for nightlife. We go on a yearly basis, but seem to hit the same places. Not really into the bass thumping places, bottle service etc. More looking for good places with excellent people watching and a place where you can have a conversation (you can hear) with people you meet. Thoughts?

    Thanks!
    JB

So maybe a good lounge with a nice crowd and some energy?
I think the most popular ones could be in Cosmo casino floor, Hyde before it goes full on club mode, or Gold lounge in Aria. Unless maybe your looking for a good bar?

Agree with all those...The Pub at Monte Carlo is a great bar with tons of craft beers. The piano bar at Paris is a good time as well...it was one of our must go to spots for like three years.

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

The guys that play there are the best I've ever seen, not only playing the music, but also playing the crowd. The drinks are fantastic and service is spot on. If you like Champagne they have one of the best selections in town.

I looked into it a little, looks like they have a cigar selection?

Yes I believe they do. It fills up FAST and people don't leave until they close. So if you're going to spend a little time here get there somewhat early...nothing crazy...but chances are if you show up at 11:00pm you won't get a table on a Friday or Saturday.
Last time we were there someone requested a college fight song and a bidding war ensued as others tipped to stop that song and play theirs. It ended up sounding like a CFB Fight Song mashup...was kinda crazy.

We will have to try it. We usually hit a piano bar when were there. We always had fun at the ones inside Harrahs and NYNY.

Any other suggestions outside of the piano bars?

There is a bar in the center of the Aria casino that is great people watching...i think Mandalay has a good casino bar as well. The terrace at MIX is a great spot to gave a drink and a chat looking down on the blvd.

I will totally second the MIX terrace as a great place to grab a drink or 2 ... i think Sundays there is no cover, if i remember.
