Tipping question

Alright everyone,

OK i need to clarify the tipping situation..

Im going bottle service for a group of 12 over labor weekend on the thursday friday and saturday and EBC on sunday.

All these are around $4k min spend for the tables. So with tax and grat that takes the total up to around $6.5k for Marquee and XS for example.

So what i need to know is - whats the deal with tipping my man on the door that takes us in. Whats the deal here, am I expected to tip him say 2 or 300 bucks and then still spend the $6.5k at the end of the night? Or is the $2-300 minus the $6.5k?

I've read a few thread on this but i need to be sure, i dont wanna get to a club and find myself in a situation

Its in addition to the 4k min +tax and 20% auto grat for waitress. Also keep in mind to tip the runner and security as well.

What you tip the host or person that walks you in is on top of your minimum, tax, and server gratuity.
How much you tip them is totally up to you. If you're not trying to get a better location or build a relationship
with that person, then just give them $100 when you get to the table.

If you want to try and tip to get a better location then tip more, and do it up front. That said, if you have a $4,000
minimum you're probably in good shape as far as table location goes so the extra tip may not do much. If I'm giving
a big tip to a host to get a better location I'd discuss it with them before arriving just to make sure you both understand
what you want.
