Any nightlife downtown?

Most of what people speak of on here is for the main strip, is there anything you would recommend checking out downtown?
Im staying downtown for two nights late july before heading over the strip. Apart from drinking, gambling and watching the big screen and live bands outside. not really sure what else there is. Any suggestions

Only place I go to in Downtown as far as nightlife is Gold Diggers at Golden Nugget. I dont know if theres anything new at The Plaza since they have redone it. But Gold Diggers is pretty cool spot to chill and hang out. I go there when I visit friends that live in Vegas when we're not feeling like being on the strip.

If you are into more hipster offerings, I believe Insert Coins and the Beauty Bar are good places to check out.

The next time I go to Vegas I plan to do a night downtown and check these spots out.

I have never felt like not being on the strip, but I get that your friends who live there might not want to.

I know what you mean. But we are in Vegas so often that the strip does get old sometimes. Only reason I like going to the big clubs is because of the music and the people. If there isnt a DJ that I really dont care to see for and we already did a night of clubbing sometime that trip, an early night in Downtown is a good way to chill and get away from it all. Its cool to check out early evening. We usually have something to eat in the area at a couple favorite places around 6-7pm. If we're going all night clubbing, we like to eat earlier and not too heavy. So we eat then go out for a drink til 8-9. Then head back to the strip around 10.

@ funfunfun Insert Coins is very fun place. I love the arcade machines, pinball machine, and the fact that I can order some drinks and play some video games. And on certain nights they have had some pretty good dj's doing themed music like EDM night, Hip-hop.

It's definitely the place me and my friends go to chill when we aren't quite into going to the strip we usually do fremont street experience. Still entertaining to say the least.

Insert coins is awesome.... anoter jem is the Downtown cocktail room ... definatley one of the cooler spots ive been to downtown... they serve punchbowl size drinks ...i recommend them !

We went to Gold Diggers and there was a redneck wedding on.... some of the visuals are imprinted on my mind... and it isnt a good thing
