Hakkasan... MGM, the old Studio 54

I'm sure most of you know that Studio 54 closed last year for renovations. They are redoing the place as a 5 level club/restaurant. The main restaurant is Hakkasan, known from its UK location.

Wondering how this will all play out. Will the club be of the same name or different? Will certain levels cater to certain music. Will they pull in some top DJs to make this one of the top clubs in vegas to rival the popular clubs right now. I'm curious how this will affect the nightlife later this year and next year when it opens up.

The clubs going to be run by Amg so it should be legit. MGM is a big hotel so it'll be busy

This is going to be interesting. Honestly, I dont really set foot in MGM much and have no reason to. This is going to make a difference on that corner of the strip.

I love staying at the Skylofts at MGM so I'm hoping this club adds some spice to MGM. The people out front at Taboo are looking pretty pathetic these days.

Skylofts alone put MGM as a contender for almost any Vegas trip I take. They also have some pretty amazing restaurants in JR, L'Atalier and Craftsteak.

The MGM has some great stuff going for it. Nightlife is lacking though. At least the ones that draw people. That place is so big, that Studio54 needed some revamping. Only people that went there were the ones that had no clue what it was, they just went for the name. Thats why Hakkasan could make some waves if the right DJs and guests are brought in.

Agree with both of these. We stayed in a skyloft recently, and its tough to describe how good that was. Theres Wet too. However we were definitely thinking about Cosmo/Encore for the next trip due to the proximity to quality clubs.
Would be great if Hakkasan nailed it and gave me a reason to book another skyloft!
