Help me device a gameplan/Costs

Hey guys,

I will be in Las Vegas next weekend with just a good friend of mine. He is an awesome guy but a bit on the cheap side. He is down to hit up one big club either Friday/Saturday night and go all out. However we want to know if there is a possibility to even enjoy yourself the other night where we wont be able to afford bottle service?

1. Any ideas of best club to go on Friday night? Bottle services for each this weekend?
2. How is the situation when is just two guys?

1. All the top clubs will be great on Friday night. Go to this website and find a DJ you like, or if you're trying to stay on a budget then avoid the big names. http://spyonvegas.com/events/

If you're on a budget for bottles and there are only two of you try to link up with another group over on the "Get Connected" forums or stick with places like Pure, Moon/Rain, 1OAK, and try to get a lower minimum. Generally speaking, BS for two people is tough because even with 1 bottle you're still looking at close to $1K after tax/tips.

2. Two guys is no problem for GA. I would decide on a place, contact a host, and setup a handshake. Plan on $100 for both of you if there's not a huge DJ there that night, and get there by 11pm, sooner if possible. If you're uncomfortable with greasing, and don't feel confident you can snag a couple ladies to join you in line, then just buy presales.

No...but it's best to split up into groups of 3-4 if you have a BUNCH of dudes.

What are the best places to get the pre-sales? Could you get them the same day? Most importantly how is the interaction with the fairer side when there's no bottles to facilitate connections :-)

What is your definition of "cheap" and going all out. Because if he is like my "cheap" friends, he will still balk at the covers and drink prices in vegas. If that is the case you are better off going GA both nights so that he does not drag your good time down by complaining about how much everything is or even worse, having to cancel a night because he feels like he spent too much the night before.

As far as with women, if you are willing to dance and just have a good time without worrying about whether or not you will find someone for the night, you are in a fine fighting position. Even without tables.

Hey McNulty not sure what GA means..........However I understood your overall post. I think one night he may be willing to go out and spend $400+ but maybe you are right he may ruin the next night. I did have a trip with him to Vegas before and it was horrible when were much younger......He is a great guy however so i am glad to have him come with me. I am guessing that once I know the best way to maneuver me going alone (or meeting other people from jack colton) I guess I can let him know the deal.

I would suggest getting a full trip budget from him so you can plan each day.
GA= General Admission which is usually about $30-40 for guys.
If you can throw out a spending budget per night we can help you spend it wisely

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Its just me and my buddy, 2 guys and we were thinking of XS Saturday. Would handshaking 100 for the both of us still be enough and thats in addition to the 50+ cover at the door right? (which I have no problem with).
I have no problem with greasing but what would one even say to the host to set up the handshake since we wouldn't be asking for a table. Wouldn't want to offend anyone.

Just shoot them a text and ask them if your group can bypass the line for cover+$30 on the date in question.

I think there's too much "handshake" talk in this forum. I mean its ok to do if in bind and you really need to get in there.
But it can be totally prevented.

For one thing, not all nights are going to be super slammed that it is impossible to get in. Even on the busiest nights you can get in GA no problem.

1. If you already know which club you're going to that specific night, just get presale. Some will say, oh but $30-40 cover is alot. You're going to possibly spend more than that if you do a handshake or go last minute and grease someone at the door.

2. Get there early. If you're there before 10pm, majority of the time, the line isnt that bad for most clubs most nights. Worse case, you stand in line for 1hr and you'll be in before 11 anyway.


If you get pre-sale. Marquee actually has a separate entrance on the 3rd floor and usually has no line. It goes quick and hassle free. They would probably only hold you if its capacity which usually doesnt happen until a couple hours from when the club opens. But you'll get in regardless.

Reason I say handshake for line pass is it only really will be worth it if you're coming there late. You're still paying the cover on top of the line pass. Basically you get in just a bit faster. I had a friend following us into XS and he greased someone to get in quicker for a couple hundred for 7 guys. I told him not too. Another friend was in line and got in within 20min. Should have saved what he gave, they werent going to miss anything coming by waiting another 20-30min.

That's on you though. Most of those long lines move pretty quick. It looks like its going to take forever, but you just have to watch it and look for yourself. Sometimes you get to meet girls in line and strike up a convo. We've done that a couple times and end up meeting some cool people that we end up partying the whole night with.

I agree. If money is tight just get there early and don't worry about handshakes. Pre-sales are good when there's a big DJ or holiday/special event weekend but even then it's not required.

Last year got 10 dudes into XS July 4th weekend with no handshakes or presales. Just got there early, split into smaller groups, got in quickly, made a quick lap around the club, got stamped and came back after about 1 1/2 half of gambling in Encore.

I have some friends who would even balk at paying for a handshake deal so I've gotten pretty resourceful in doing straight up GA
