  • Wanttickets.com - Tables

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a good day today.

I wanted to ask a quick question about tables offered on wanttickets.com. I have been a member here for a few months, and a lurker for a few months before that, and I don't remember this being discussed in any threads.

I have a group of 6 (could be up to 8) that want to get a table at Surrender for Steve Aoki on Friday, July 6th. In my poking around, I discovered this: http://www.wantickets.com/Events/106...th-Steve-Aoki/

There is a "VIP Table for 4" offered at $710.00 with a $56.80 service charge added to it.

Does anyone have any experience buying one of these? If I were to buy this and then get two presales for my remaining members of my group, would this be a good plan? Will I get below average service? I am assuming that this includes one bottle and the 20% service charge but nothing else.

This is more of a curiosity than anything else. I will almost surely get in touch with a host and set up a table through them. 1 bottle will go extremely fast among this all-star cast of characters I am bringing with me.

I just don't see how it makes much sense. You get there have to find the clipboard and explain what you bought. By then you will have no pull with getting a better table at because with Aoki I am sure it will be slammed. It makes more sense to contact a host, have some input on where you will be sitting (though probably not much at the 1 bottle minimum) have a number to text when you arrive to get in smoothly. And if you are planning to go over 1 bottle, use that with the host, negotiate the differences between 1 and 2 and locations. Once you buy this plan they have no idea you are thinking of buying a 2nd. If you are paying for the bottle + tip + $60 to want tickets, why not include that $60 into whatever you would tip a host and upgrade your experience.

Oh yeah. I definitely wasn't going to go that route, I was just interested if anyone else ever had done that before. It didn't make much sense to me, based on what I have learned since browsing around JC.com for the last 6 months, but I just wanted to learn a little more for the hell of it.

My guess was that you would get a shit table, and they would try and pressure you out quickly to resell it.
