  • Can someone help me with costs

Ok, so we are going to be in Vegas next weekend and doing BS at Tao.

7 guys with a $1000 min and tipping the host $350-400.

Need to give my friends a figure for the night, so to the veterans... what other costs should I factor in so I can work out roughly, how much it'd be per person.

$300 for tax and tip and another $100 for security, runner tips and an extra $100 cushion if you go over your min. So $1800 total, id collect $275/person and call it good.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

+1. Bring another 50 on top of that, in case you get moved to a better table during the night.

Last weekend I had a service charge of $70 on a $3.7k bill, when paying by card. Is this normal? If so it might be a small cost to factor in.

no idea what that is, and its actually illegal to charge a credit card processing fee.

Any ideas on what the service charge would be here? The guy who paid the bill wanted me to ask. I don't wanna ask the host if it's something straightforward.

Well it's 2% of the total which would cover the typical merchant fee for a Visa. The only charges I'm aware of outside of tax and tip is Marquee's Live Entertainment Tax, but I don't think it prints as a "Service Charge". My rule of thumb is, if I wasn't aware of it, and don't know what it is, I dispute it with the credit card company and let them hash it out with the business.

Yeah looks like it's that $50. For our Live Entertainment Tax it shows up as LET on the bill.
