  • DJ Set Times MDW Weekend?

Got plenty of dayclub/pool parties and nightclub tickets purchased over MDW but none of them indicate how long the headline DJs will be performing for.

In general, how long are their sets if it's just one main act compared to two and what are the usual times the main acts start?

Dayclubs/pool parties look to start from 10/11am to 6pm, whilst nightclubs from 10pm to 4/5am. Getting in an hour or two before the main acts would be ideal rather than waiting around and being stuck in the same place for hours.

Dayclubs the headliner will go on between 3 and 4pm, nightclubs figure 1am.

"Getting in" is the key part of that quote, you said you have tickets so I am assuming presales and GA over tables. Once the places get to capacity, tickets or not you will be waiting

you do realize that you wont be able to just walk right in an hour or two before their sets right? once they are at capacity (which will be guaranteed for MDW), no one goes in until someone leaves, and you will wait (regardless if you have tickets or not). so if you want to ensure you get in, you will need to be "stuck in the same place for hours"

Cheers for the info guys. Will keep this in mind, was thinking that tickets would be sold based on capacity.

Venues usually don't sell out their full GA capacity in pre-sale tickets (although I've seen it happen a couple times on holiday weekends). Pre-sale tickets usually have small print like "must arrive by 11-11:30pm or subject to door discretion" which basically means, if you aren't in by that time, they will allow GA entries in to full the club to capacity. Once that happens, it's usually 1 in, 1 out for GA from then on. Some clubs are better than others on honoring late pre-sale arrivals (Marquee is one that does great) but depending on the club, you'll either be waiting in the GA line, or a priority/guestlist line.

Either way, don't you want to be in the club when the headliner comes into the booth? Get there early, have a drink, take care of your bartender for your first round, and you'll be in good shape.
